fake letter. A full bird carrier captain would never do that. 1. only an internal classified naval message would go out. 2. Ship location while deployed is classified confidential information and is treated as such.

Fauci: "Active discussion" about broadening use of masks to fight coronavirus http://www.axios.com/anthony-fauci-masks-coronavirus-f77c3007-8c56-4ecd-bc9b-1d69e175b71e.htmlWhat he's saying: "When we get in a situation where we have enough masks, I believe there will be some very serious consideration about more broadening this recommendation of using masks. We're not there yet, but I think we're close to coming to some determination. Because if, in fact, a person who may or may not be infected wants to prevent infecting someone else, one of the best ways to do that is with a mask, so perhaps that's the way to go. And again, I say, Jim, that's under very active consideration. We'll be discussing it today, this afternoon, at the task force meeting." I fully expected that. They're not telling us to wear masks only because there aren't enough. Kind of like on the Titanic, since they didn't have enough lifeboats they handed out life preservers! FWIW I have a relative who works (worked?) for a China based company, and used to travel there. He asked someone over there how they handled it. Their immediate reply was 'wear a mask whenever you go out'.

I think when it comes to this virus the numbers game is imprecise, and always in flux. So many variables. I guess the only numbers we can trust will be tallied after it's all behind us. No doubt about it being serious. I won't even give credence to any other argument, and haven't for quite some time. Been watching it like a hawk since Wuhan. The fact that scientific estimates change merely shows that we are in a fluid situation. These scientists do know more than the average armchair quarterback. Lots more. Many complain, but as of late our President has done well listening to the scientists, and following their recommendations. This will save countless lives. Are social distancing and stay at home orders helping? I am convinced they are. https://www.foxnews.com/politics/trump-tells-americans-to-prepare-for-a-very-painful-two-weeks-as-white-house-releases-extended-coronavirus-guidelines"The surge is coming, and it’s coming pretty strong," the president said in the White House briefing room in a lengthy press conference that lasted more than two hours. The extension of the social distancing guidelines comes after Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, and other public health officials on the White House coronavirus task force ominously warned that even if the U.S. were to continue to do what it was doing -- keeping the economy closed and most Americans in their homes -- the coronavirus could still leave 100,000 to 240,000 people in the United States dead and millions infected. Without any measures in place to mitigate the contagion's spread, those projections jump to between 1.5 and 2.2 million deaths from COVID-19.

What happens if the boss says to come into work falling behind due to another coworker not pulling his/her weight in my dept? Should I put my life at risk to come into work doing yet again 70% of the work while the other coworker does 35% tops daily? She has to come into the office since she has no internet at home needed. They claim our jobs are essential but 99% of all other office staff is working from home , but NONE share same duties that have to get done daily as I have it. Planning on saying NO my job is not worth dying over to compensate for inept coworker so deal with it. See where that leads right?

The coronavirus may not be as deadly as previously suggested, according to a new study that accounts for cases that were not diagnosed.
The study published Monday in the medical journal The Lancet Infectious Diseases estimated that the death rate will be 0.66%, which is much lower than figures between 2% and 3.4% that have come out of Wuhan, China, according to CNN.
Researchers said the lower coronavirus mortality rate was determined by accounting for cases that went undiagnosed — possibly because they were mild or had no symptoms.
To do this, researchers used modeling based on the number of detected cases among repatriated citizens who were aggressively tested for the virus.
But in line with other studies, the researchers found that the majority of fatalities are among adults who were age 80 or older.

Keep your powder dry. U.N. says virus threatens global stability.Americans are told to brace for “very, very painful” period, and U.N. says virus threatens global stability. The United Nations warned on Wednesday that the unfolding battle against the coronavirus would lead to “enhanced instability, enhanced unrest, and enhanced conflict.”As Americans steeled themselves for what President Trump said would be a “very, very painful two weeks,” the scale of the economic, political and societal fallout around the world came into ever greater focus. “We are facing a global health crisis unlike any in the 75-year history of the United Nations — one that is killing people, spreading human suffering and upending people’s lives,” the United Nations declared in a report calling for global solidarity in the fight. “This is much more than a health crisis,” the report added. “The coronavirus is attacking societies at their core.”
With more than 30,000 dead across Europe and the virus still spreading ferociously, millions across the continent resigned themselves to hunkering down for weeks more, and possibly months. Britain, France and Spain all experienced their highest death tolls on Tuesday. At the White House, the scientists charged with leading the battle against the virus made it clear that there were two distinctly different campaigns underway in the United States. One was taking place in the New York metropolitan region, where more than half of the nation’s cases have been detected — the death toll in New York City alone surged past 1,000. More than 2,000 nurses, 500 paramedics and emergency medical technicians, as well as 250 ambulances from across the country, were converging on the city, joining the Navy and the National Guard in assisting the region’s front-line medical workers. Adding to the warlike atmosphere, the home of the U.S. Open tennis championship in Queens was being turned into a triage center, and hospital tents were being set up in Central Park. Dr. Deborah Birx, who is coordinating the nation’s coronavirus response, pointed to the exponential growth of cases in New York and parts of New Jersey as just the thing that national officials were trying to prevent in other parts of the country. The charts — with multicolor lines representing the virus in each of the 50 states — looked like the maps used to track hurricanes. And as with the weather, there is a good deal of uncertainty in the predictions.Dr. Birx said that there had been worrying outbreaks in other metropolitan regions, including Detroit and Miami, but that the second broad campaign at the moment was to keep the lines tracking the virus in the rest of the country from looking like those in New York and New Jersey. The best tool at the government’s disposal, she said, remained strict adherence to social distancing guidelines. Even if those guidelines are followed perfectly, officials said, the estimated death toll in the United States is 100,000 to 240,000 deaths.

I find these trajectory charts very interesting. Numbers being numbers and projections being projections. I think if we toss out China & Iran's numbers, the charts are more accurate. Numbers being numbers... Note the text box above a couple of these charts, they allow you to enter specific countries and states for customized charts.https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2020/03/21/upshot/coronavirus-deaths-by-country.html?campaign_id=9&emc=edit_NN_p_20200401&instance_id=17241&nl=morning-briefing%C2%AEi_id=53128147%C2%A7ion=topNews&segment_id=23488&te=1&user_id=3d8ae1a308bcc36f31cde15f70303827The charts — with multicolor lines representing the virus in each of the 50 states — looked like the maps used to track hurricanes. We need a chapter on the forum for “Wild Ass Conspiracy Theories” Yes we do, and a "lets talk about jesus" thread, and maybe even a " i read about this medicine on the internet" thread. Agreed.... I'll discuss that with my colleagues but honestly those two stand in line behind a "I don't like the duly elected President of the U.S." board.

What's ironic to me is that someone is attempting to attack alleged stupidity with such a stupidly worded sign.

I guess we're s'posed to. Bless their hearts! Here's another! What's up with these nutty pastors? Praise the Lord, Pass The Coronavirus! I had to do some research to make sure this wasn't an April fool's day joke! ‘Bunch Of Pansies’: Pennsylvania Pastor Slams Coronavirus Precautions, Planning ‘Woodstock’-Like Easter Gathering https://pittsburgh.cbslocal.com/2020/04/01/pittsburgh-pastor-to-hold-woodstock-like-easter-gathering-despite-coronavirus-pandemic/

These asshole pastors should be arrested on the spot. With all that is known about how this virus spreads, they're a direct threat to the health and safety of countless numbers of innocents. I know what I'd do if I lost someone because they came in contact with one of his parishioners.
