Temp and humidity make a difference?

Wondering if anyone has an opinion about this.

My Valk since I have gotten it has been running in a range of 65 degrees to 90 degrees mostly hot weather and 80% humidity give or take. Our fall and winter has been warm even for us.

Cold front moved in last week with rain and temps heading down into the 30's a few nights some days in the 40's. Between the rain and going out of town the bike hasn't been ridden in a week, maybe 10 days? Yesterday I went for a ride, temp was 45 with about 35% humidity. I went to start the bike up and it died on me taking a little throttle play to get it going and idling. That has never happened before. After the bike was warm I got some decel popping which has never happened before either. Bike still ran well once I got it going but I've never had an idle problem or decel popping.

Just wonder if anyone thinks the weather is what caused those two things? It could simply be a bad tank of gas as well. Not a major problem.

For you guys stuck in your snow caves this is really my prime ridding weather, not much rain with cool enough temps that you gear up without roasting. 3500 miles since September with no big trips involved.

        decal popping-has it been desmogged? Here lately with all the corn adulterated gasoline if i even Think it will set up fer awhile i now add Marine Stabil to my last fillup before headin home-generally 25 miles or so from fillup to casa. Phatt Ghurl sat idle fer near bout a year after i broke my ankle in Aug of 16. Got her started on that OLD gas that was treated with Marine Stabil. Ran a bit rough But she started and ran and ideled but after i ran out a good bit of the old gas i could feel the difference with the new gas. My I/S-Phatt Ghurl-hasn't run in over 2 months. When i git back home I'll let ya know how Good she does. Last fillup before i left treated with Marine Stabil. RIDE SAFE.

Lower temperatures will affect air density, and cold fronts often bring higher pressure air with them; since our carbs spray fuel according to air velocity, denser air will receive a somewhat leaner mixture. Just like riding at altitude vs near sea level, when the mixture goes rich at 5000ft. Starting at lower temperatures will also require enrichment ("choke") for a longer warm-up time.

My house is at 22 ft above sea level and I use ethanol free gas when ever I can. I live on the coast so people call it boat gas and it is widely available. When I ride inland the non ethanol gas seems to go away.
 
Bike hasn't been desmogged and I have thought about doing to get rid of any possible problems with the smog system.  It's unneeded, the bike is old why have it?

Cooler temps can cause the vacuum lines to stiffen up and cause leaks. Same with exhaust gaskets, Orings around the intake manifolds too.

lower temps increases air density which results in more oxygen.  denser air increases air resistance going down the road, lowering mpg.
higher humidity means more moisture in the air which displaces the oxygen.

per Mikuini if a carb is jetted perfectly for 70F then those sittings are good for plus/minus 25F.

You do have to search for it; try pure-gas.org to see where the real gas is, inland.
