Charlie Daniels is a great patriot too!

Indeed he is..... And while he's one of the smart ones, I still say a celebrity's opinions should carry no more weight than any other citizens..... Even when they're right..... Wink

83 years young now, amazing.  I became a Charlie Daniels fan in the mid 70's along with other son's of the south, Marshall Tucker Band, Skynyrd Boys, Allman Brothers, etc.  Thanksgiving of 76 ( Saddle Tramp Album days ) my sister, cousin, and myself flew to Los Angeles to visit my sister, all of us our first time, big difference for some hicks from Midland, MI.  My CA sister said she had tickets for a concert for us, one I had drolled over in the LA entertainment section of the LA Times.  Eric Clapton with Charlie Daniels.  My Michigan sister and cousin had never heard of Charlie and while at dinner ( Victorian Station I believe ) was wondering why I was in such a hurry to get to the Forum ( Lakers played there ) to see the entire Charlie Daniels set.  They soon found out why.
Anyway it was a great show and Ringo Starr even came up to play with Eric Clapton .  I saw Charlie and Marshall Tucker several times over the next 7 years playing venues in Michigan.  Now they are both coming to Dayton at the Rose Music Center, May 2,  which is a great enclosed outdoor venue that seats about 5k.  I have tickets for the wife and myself, and am still as stoked 44 years later to see them.  Doug Grey is only member left from Marshall Tucker and I hope he and Charlie play for many more years.

And another when I think about my ex who I met when she moved in with her parents in an apartment next to my sister in Marina del Rey, in 1984
