Okay, so I had a late start to today where I lounged around the house and watched the sun come up before I hit the road. That was nice.

I started my day by going to the dentist to get a tooth bonded. I cracked it last weekend. As I was sitting in the chair listening to odd things whirr and polish in my mouth I was suddenly hit with a vibration sensation. I thought, "Man, he must be using the big polisher in there!" Turns out I was getting a phone call and my phone was on vibrate. Something about how I was laying made it vibrate my entire leg for a change.

Before I jumped back on the bike to go to work I checked my messages. The missed call was of course the one I've been waiting for for 2 days!  HR at the college wanted to set up an interview and teaching demonstration for a full time job that is opened up. So Monday I have a job interview!  It would be nice to be full time somewhere again. I think working full time would be considerably less work than stringing together part-time gigs to make ends meet, so that is the goal.

Wish me luck!  I'll take all of the positive thoughts I can get next week.

By the way, I left the dentist and rode to work. The rain and strong winds had calmed down leaving me with a mid-morning 60 degree ride in the sunshine. Not a bad start to the day!

Woke up to 10" of HEAVY WET snow this morning...  It was almost more than my snowblower could handle  Angry  Us folks in WI would do just about anything for a rainy 60 degree day.

Enjoy the miles  Wink

Congrats on the call for the interview and best of luck to you on getting the job.....

On a side note regarding the "vibrating" phone.... funny now but not at the time,  I was working on someones furnace, changing out some parts and while I was doing the electrical side of it... my phone started vibrating, and I thought I was being shocked.  What a rush that was.  Almost pizzed my pants but once I realized it was the phone, after I fell back on my ass... I answered the phone and it was a buddy of mine that had to wait til I calmed down and stopped laughing as I told him what had just happened.   That vibrating phone still gets me off guard now and then......   Grin

I've got a game warden friend who had an actual recording of a large rattler sounding off as his ring tone. He changed it after it rang when he was reaching under a bush at his house to get his son's baseball. 2funny

Hey John, that's great news ,hope you get the job! Would that alter your summer plans? We are having 50 mph winds, and a winter storm warning tonight, don't that make you wish you were here. Don't worry, it will all be gone by June ! Good luck on Monday IV, keep us posted, cooldude

It shouldn't alter anything about my summer plans either way. This job is at the community college and I do not need the PhD to work here even in a full time position, however, the PhD is personal goal that I am going to achieve.

I enjoy the Catholic College most days, but at the end of the day, a full time gig opened up at the community college first. Honestly, I think I'm happier at the community college. Although getting to teach upper level courses occasionally would be nice. I like working with the variety of people and ages that the community college offers. Despite their differences nearly all of them are at a pivotal point in their lives and that makes them interesting (challenging but interesting).

I'll keep you posted.
Thanks for the positive thoughts.

My father was excited when I described the interview process to him. He thought it sounded like I must the final candidate if they were going to have me do a teaching demonstration. I had to remind him that is just part of the process. At this point I could be one of two candidates going through the process or ten. We'll just to wait and see how it works out in the end.

A fellow helicopter pilot friend of mine was getting his annual flight physical and he said that while he was getting his "finger wave", his phone went off on vibrate in his pants at his ankle.   He said he turned around and asked the doctor what he was doing.   Hilarious story, don't know how much he embellished it though.

Found out today that I am not going to get that full time job. Still part timing in the fall. Back to trying to find a job with insurance.
