Special thanks to my friend's Rick ( Flask ) and his son TJ without them hookin' a brother up this bike would still be in Jacksonville Florida . Very low mile Wing that is in awesome condition got a truck load of extras with it. Smooth power is the best way to describe it or a hot rod Cadillac . I still have two Valkyrie's I will never sell my first that I bought in June 1998. Pictures taken at Norris Dam and down river on The Clinch River in The Great State Of Tennessee.

yah,  definitely going to have to get used to seeing him on a Wing vs. a Valk....  but it will grow on us am sure..   cooldude

had a few chances of buying a used Wing but so far have passed since I feel Goldwings are for the most part for older fellas say 60 on up,  Reb excluded...

test drove a nice burnt orange one lower mileage this summer was buttery smooth but also very very quiet.    After seeing the color even though mint shape,  I passed since price was still too much.

Very nice..... I hate to admit it, but I've been very tempted myself. My biggest fear on the Valk is being cross country on a trip and having a piece of unobtanium go out and being unable to find anything that can even spell Valk, much less work on one in range.....

While I do understand your concern, my experience indicates that if the bike is more than 10 years old, most Honda Dealers won't work on it regardless of what it is in the Honda line.   It's very unlikely they will have any parts in stock if, the bike is more than 10 years old.    I'm sure there are exceptions but, I haven't found one.   I've even visited a Honda Dealership and had a Salesman ask me what kind of bike that was I was riding....   Roll Eyes

That doesn't mean they won't trouble shoot for you and make some labor dollars though.

In Houston Wild West Honda where I bought my 2001 Valkyrie stopped servicing it at ten years old.   I got no loyalties to a dealer who wont service what they sell.   I immediately severed all dealings with Wild West Honda and now deal with Honda of Houston who does work on all models.   I take all my Honda work there.

As others have said that is a great looking Wing

The big question is which bike will Joe ride into Inzane, and will he ride home multiple times to show off the stable?

thus one reason besides more cost to not get a newer say 2008 on up Goldwing.  I have test drove 2 now and they do handle slightly better and slightly faster, but the WOW factor and GRIN factor is not there as much as on our 20 year old Valks for some reason.  I am old school and set in my ways I guess?   One day when I get to be a GEEZER in my later 50's, I may change my mind by then???   Roll Eyes   Goldwings are a dime a dozen, but our 20 year machines are becoming more rare as the years go by.

I may have reached Geezerdom in my early 50’s. My first ride on a 1800 was when my best bud bought a new 2002 Goldwing and I was sold. Problem was/is I didn’t have the $15k disposable income laying around. I do recognize that our Valkyries have their unique profile and feel and that’s why I still have my first and only Valkyrie since 1999. When a long distance ride comes to mind I still lust after a 1800 Goldwing.

Very nice! I too have considered adding a geezer glide to stable. But since I haven't made the 7th decade yet, I will continue to casually browse that possibility.

It's very unlikely they will have any parts in stock if, the bike is more than 10 years old.    I'm sure there are exceptions but, I haven't found one.   I've even visited a Honda Dealership and had a Salesman ask me what kind of bike that was I was riding....   Roll Eyes

If I pull into a dealer of almost any sort around here in the heart of HD country, they still tend to know what I am riding and try to convince me it is time to update (downsize?, degrade?). The IS doesn't even have 50k on it yet so it is not even broken in. One local HD dealer has asked me to not ride into their lot since the Large Ladies seem to draw more attention than the new models in the show room.

Just out of curiosity, why would you let a dealer work on your bike?

I have ridden two different 2006 Wings and after the initial shock of trying to find the control for this or that
enjoyed the experiences.

The first was Hay's brothers wing in Texas during GOTF weekend maybe in 2011 or so and the other was renting one in Alaska when we got off the cruise ship.

The wing handled ok on mud and dirt. I was impressed.  Better than my Valk even being heavier
and I was riding with Bonnie on the back also.

My interstate makes a lot of noise when I hit potholes, probably stuff loose inside the fairing if I had to guess.

Wonder how long it will take Joe to put a taxi tire on the back of that wing?

nowadays though the fairly newer goldwings say 2008 or so can be had for under 10K easily, or at least around me.   15K is pushing the limits on a 2-4 year old one more so.  back a few years ago 15K, but not now.  like said,  a dime a dozen and tons on the market most with lower mileage under 40K or so.

  You will love the wing.
On long days on the highway you can really burn the miles.
At the end of the day you still feel great.
