As some of you are aware of I am a P G R Ride Captain here in Missouri. Lately a day or 2 does not go bye what I don't see a mission posting for a WWII Vet or A Korean War Vet or a Nam Vet. What i notice more here are the number of WWII Vets that are passing this life but also passing into history. With out these courageous Men and Women we could well have had a National language OTHER then the English we speak every day and tend to take for granted. We as a Nation are losing treasures that can NEVER be Replaced. I also Know lots of us here are aware of these treasures we are losing Too bad those that Really NEED to Know the How of how we got here will never bother to look it up. Good MEN and Good WOMEN have perished to preserve what the Founding Fathers gave us in 1776. I guess what I'm trying to say is-we had better protect Our Country before others try to take it away from us. Far too many elected types willing to sell US down the river for ideals that ARE no Where near what AMERICA is. Should we be sold down the river iy is on those of us that chose to ignore what's going on around us this very second and every second of every day. I PRAY that those MEN and WOMEN that died on the battlefields and later do to age or other health issues have NOT died in vain. RIDE SAFE.

old2soon. I could not agree with you more.  5 of my uncles and my Dad served during WW2. Two uncles served during the Korean War. I do believe that their sacrifices could very well be in vain. Most of today's youth could care less how they got the freedom they enjoy today. Just to drive your's and my point home. I am the only one to reply to your post.

I think a big part of why so many are willing to vote for a system of government other than our current one, do so because they haven't known or experienced anything else.  They are taken in by false promises and pie in the sky, freesh!t programs that are magically funded with other people's money.  They have found themselves in debt due to their need for instant gratification and unwillingness to work and sacrifice for what they want, and were seduced by Madison Ave. that you can live the life you always wanted, not the one you have worked for, through credit.  Whether it is new cars and fancy houses, or a worthless college degree, there is no such thing as a free lunch!  The sooner they learn this, the better we will be as a country.  And if we continue to allow our elected officials to steal from the taxpayer with no consequence, they will continue their corrupt, lying ways and perpetuate the illusion.

Allowing people to violate a contract to repay a debt, does nothing to help the situation.

Never thought I'd see socialism actually being considered a viable alternative by so many in the USA.  Is world history no longer taught?

Simply put-NO. When my Daughters were still in high school I looked at a "history" book. The most recent event I saw as History in that book was the Korean war and that was basically touching on dates and casulty counts. She specifically wanted to know about the carrier that had the flight deck turn into an inferno off Nam. Gave her the book about it. She-Daughter-wanted me to summarize for her. I politely INSISTED she read the book. Found out later after conversation with her she had skimmed the book and did most of it on line. She got an A- for other peoples work.  Cry
Other than the jocks when's the last time you saw young folks out and about in the summer? I've seen young uns in high summer lookin like they were in the dead of winter pale.
Stated this before but I Fear for what I'm leaving for my Children and Grand Children and my Great Grand Children-you git the idea. RIDE SAFE.
