Finally yesterday all the ingredients came together.   Weather was 20-30 percent rain....77 degrees....2:00 pm my schedule cleared.....2:15 I was cruising.   15 miles to Buckees in Waller.  Stopped for gas.  Hit the 2 lanes and didn't get off the bike for 147 miles.   Felt really good to get in a ride.  Been a while since I rode that far nonstop....butt got a little sore.  1500 miles away from 100,000 miles on my Valjyrie.   I'm 69 and been riding since I was 14 and never have put 100,000 miles on a particular motorcycle before.  Don't think I ever had a bike that would hold up to that many miles.  Did I mention it really felt good to get in a ride???

It warmed up enough for a ride here in VA (50 something), so I got in a few hours myself.  I'm a couple weeks from 67, and my bike has 101K (the other one only 58K).  My miles are way down the last two years, but I still like to go, just not as far as I used to.

I've been riding motorcycles since age 14.  My wife and I are both retired and we go and do more than anybody we know.  We love to go on vacations and we are not home nearly every weekend.   We are headed out today with our traveling buddies in a 4 dr truck to my buddies kin folk in Louisiana to Marti Gra in LA Place, Louisiana for 5 days.    Motorcycles have always been the love of my liesure time.    My wife has no problem with me telling her "I love ya....but I need to take a solo ride for a few hrs for some me time".   Ha
