This assuming the current political glide path stays the same. If Trump is found out to be killing baby seals in the Arctic things could change.

At the risk of offending a sensitive democrat I’ll say that no matter which party you belong to there really is not a choice unless you are willfully ignorant or just brainwashed to hate Donald Trump so much you can’t see how good this President has been for the country and how bad (based on their stated positions) each and every other candidate would be for the country. And bottom line, Socialism has never ever worked anywhere and anyone that thinks Bernie Sanders is such a genius that he will make it work for the first time in history is foolish.

What an excellent idea Carl.

You may need an undecided option.  crazy2
Actually, the poll is flawed for anyone not voting for Trump, since the opposing candidates are unknown.

The poll is not really flawed since, an anybody else but Trump spot would put decisiveness in the polling. The category that would fit that is someone else. But really we already know pretty much how its going to turn out 2 maybe 3 votes for other categories than Trump and the rest for Trump. But of course like in this post there are some that have much to say but dont state a position.

I don't get it.  The MSM polls don't seem to agree with the results here.  I heard on the radio on my way to work, that here in MI, all the demoncratic candidates are leading Trump by a small margin.  They wouldn't  lie to us, would they?

I’m sure you know this forum is not representative of the voting public at large. Along with the fact that most members not in the “echo chamber” have run off or don’t take part anymore. (I’m actually surprised it’s not 100% Trump)

He knows that. Otherwise he would have given us a ANY FREAKING BODY BUT TRUMP option.

There is and was from the beginning a "Someone Else" selection for those that don't prefer any of the three obvious options.

Some folks are so determined to be contrary that they see their own evil in everyone but themselves.

The "anyone but the duly elected President" comment is evidence that your decisions are not driven by intelligent logic but by emotion or hatred.  I myself identify certain politicians for whom I would not vote but none that I would identify as anyone but.

I was hoping to see that despite the regular postings we are a spread of differing preferences.  I guess that didn't succeed.

Do we even have anybody on here under 35 ?

Everyone that I talk to and I know many in my city are voting for Trump.  So your statement that most here are skewed is totally false and misleading. Most who want the best are in the know and for the coutry are voting for him according to what I have found.

Down here in The Missouri Ozarks most folks I converse with are in Fact Trump supporters. Most of the folks I attend Church with are Trump supporters. Most of the folks I ride P G R with are Trump supporters. Most of the Farmers and Ranchers I converse with are Trump supporters. Even a family that migrated from that democratic bastion of california are Trump supporters. The folks from ca. got taxed off their land which B T W had been in their Family for 5 generations I was informed.

Current Odds from 5Dimes, an online sportsbook located in Costa Rica.

In 2016, 5Dimes had Clinton as the odds on favorite through the entire year.

I doubt there are even a handful anymore. I realize you might not see it, but the hostility towards anyone even slightly to the left of Atilla the Hun is palpable here. I’m used to it, but I know for a fact that many just tired of it and left.

I have a favorite first cousin who is a leap year baby.  Decades ago when he told me he was only 5yo, it was pretty funny.

He divorced, retired, started driving school buses, remarried a younger woman, and started having babies again at 70.  OMG, he has more energy than I do.

And I meant 35yo, not 35lbs.   Grin

It is the polling model they use. It is skewed. Not intentionally. Just as a practical matter.

I shall offer my opinion on this.

Go back to the 92 election. Clinton, Bush, and Perot.

Ultimately Clinton gets 43%, Bush gets 37.5% and Perot gets 18.9% of the "popular vote".

They ran as Democrat, Republican and Independent respectively.

So, when the polling during the campaigning they had a 3 party political model.

Now lets switch this around a bit.

Same basic numbers but take Bush out of it. Let's say Perot runs on the Republican ticket.

The final percentages would have been Perot at 56.4% and Clinton at 43%. Perot would have got virtually all the Republican votes PLUS the votes he wound up with for himself as if he were the independent candidate.

The polling would have been modeled on the 2 party model and only, or mostly, the Republican and Democrat voters would be polled. The independents would polled but if they make a choice they are no longer independent.

So the two party polling model would have had Perot and Clinton seeming neck and neck and a Perot blowout at the finish. That is because the real Perot voters, not accounted for in the polling model come out in droves to vote Perot.

That is what we saw in 2016. Except this time it was Trump and a different Clinton.

The real Trump supporters are not really establishment republicans. They are more anti-establishment conservatives.

I did not vote, because I should not.
As 'anything but' a casual observer, and as you all know, having very biased opinions, developed over the decades of my own experience with both Conservative and Liberal governments in my own country. Anyway, what has transpired from June 2015 at Trump Tower to now has been a real eye opener as to how absolutely corrupt and entrenched the deep state is, and has been all along.
The criminal involvement of the intelligence operatives in collusion with the deeply entrenched DC political class, both DNC and GOP as well as the involvement of foreign bad actors is astounding.
All the way back then, having a "casual" political opinion ended. Even here the triggering effect that the mere mention of Donald J Trump evoked was unsettling. The ruffling of feathers does not adequately describe the change in people's demeanor before and after such a conversation.
I cannot believe how well President Trump is able to cope with the political and entrenched media storm, both domestic and foreign every day without even a sign that he might buckle under all that pressure.
If you can't vote for a man like that, who can you vote for...in all good conscience.

Joe Biden May have just shot his other foot yesterday. He doesn’t have many feet left. He asked the fine people of North Carolina to help him as he runs for the US Senate. Then he said if you don’t like what you see then vote for the other Biden. I think he needs help alright but it’s more like nursing care.

Hate to be that guy, but I’m pretty sure he was in South Carolina when he tripped up. What’s amazing is that he didn’t catch himself and make the correction. I don’t know how long Joe will stay in but we better pay attention who his running mate will be should he become the nominee. I really feel bad for Biden in that he just owes them know when his time has passed. I’m sure Obama is just shaking his head and being thankful he didn’t endorse Joe.
