Yes... And a passport, and a passport card.

I do find it rather disturbing that of all the symbols they could have chosen they picked a yellow star, considering the historical context of requiring people to publicly display a yellow star...

Yes I got my "real ID" You need it to enter any government buildings or sites or even fly domestic and I don't carry my Passport with me all the time. It doesn't cost anymore if you do it when your lic needs renewed which mine did.
The way things are going, we will probably need it to cross state lines in the future  Cheesy  Grin

This will be my second new DL in three years. The first because I had a new address, the second since the original expired even though the state agency assured me that by renewing the expiration date would be moved back 4 years. Not.

Since I fly my 90+ YO mother to la casa here in SE WI twice a year I guess that it is easier to get a new DL than fighting the TSA with a passport. And several states have decided that a passport is not a valid form of ID. Go figure....

Oh yeah, my passport is due for renewal too. Two years too late to do a mail in.

The BC trip this summer may still be on if I quit procrastinating.

When the wife and me got our KS driver's licenses, we got the RealID versions. Neither of us have EVER had a passport, though.

Mine is a white star on a yellow background.  Did I get spoofed?

Very perceptive to note that it's an inverse yellow star...

I saw recently that Oregon will start issuing Real DL/ID this summer.  Only took 15 years for them to start.  I will probably wait till fall to get mine as hate sitting in DMV.   I do have a passport is necessary to fly till then.
