Sometimes ya just gotta go...

Winter Springs, FL - Occasionally...

« on: February 27, 2020, 04:58:26 AM »

Geez! Anticipation arousal!!! Today is the day, and... yeah, I'm pretty excited! In another hour or so... not exactly sure, of course, but very soon... ALI and I will be mobile again and headed out. Nearly impossible for us to take a new to us road from here to the state line, but what the heck... we just do what we gotta do, right?

Gonna go get some much needed wind therapy... Sure, we've had a tinsy bit lately visiting BBQ places, even riding with or to meet-up with friends down here, but... There is simply nothing else in the entire world like a genuine road trip! No destination, no time frame, no... nothing! Well, naturally there will be lots and lots of adventure, discoveries, grins, and... all that joyous jazz! I'm almost plum giddy!!!

I don't anticipate this outing being anything lengthy or epic or anything... However, one never knows, and I do enjoy having an 'open-ended', two-entry itinerary! Item number one... 'Depart'. Item number two: 'All that follows'! OK, let me come clean here...

I sort of do have what might pass for an initial schedule... somewhat. I called Troutdude and Rams yesterday and spilled the beans to them... Now, Dennis had previously told me of a new 'chicken place' near Hattiesburg, and it could possibly be even better than the 'General Store'. Hmmmm, wonder if we might should go there... like maybe this coming Saturday...? Well...

Ron was quite OK with that notion, and he even speculated others in that area might even want to join-in on such an enterprise... Folks like Punisher, Crazyhorse, Warlock, maybe even a couple of others... Dennis, on the other hand, said his 'boss' had other tentative plans for them, so he'd have to wait and see how 'his' priorities unfolded... OK, it ain't like I had my heart set on anything specific anyhow...

So, with the possibility of dining on some fine fowl fare with some really good pals (but there is always the pig-part fallback alternative), we'll be meandering off in a little while and... We may hang with some dear friends soon... or not... Whatever, at a minimum she and I will be out yonder doing what we were born to do... and... "That's a good thing..."

Hey Bruce,

I'm re-retiring in mid April and heading down for the Southern Valkyrie Madness ride in Hattiesburg.  I was then planning on heading over to NOLA and hanging with my son Eric for a while, an extended while.  So I was not planning on riding (that means not making plans) during that time, but would like to get as much wind in as possible.  If you happen to start an adventure during that time and don't mind some company, we should link up.  My cell is 248-seven 29-1169.

I was aroused this morning myself but when I looked outside there was a very lite blanket of snow. All gone now but ruined the mood. Hope your entire trip is sun filled and pleasant winds.

Hey there, you had me guessing for a moment when I read the title. Wink My personal "arousal" will come tomorrow midday when I leave to join some other Valkers for the weekend in the general area of the Dells for a winter break. Won't be riding down obviously, but am looking forward to meeting up with some good folks for fellowship and conversation. So tired of talking to myself due to the monotony of winter here at the north pole. As for plans, hoping to hit the road south the latter part of May....assuming no snowfalls.  cooldude

              please

Robin,

It's referred to often as the General Store, but it's proper name is 'Old Country Store'. It's located south of Port Gibson, nearly midway between Vicksburg and Natchez, MS, on US HWY 61. The nearby community is named Lorman, however... Don't expect signs, buildings or any symptoms of city life around there! In fact, the only landmark out on the highway to guide you is the store itself! Good luck...

Skinhead,

I've sent you a PM, Joe, and included my own phone number... Let's chat!

Thanks for the comments, y'all... We had us a... not typically typical first day on the road... I may expand on that later... Nothing at all bad or sad... just... you know... a first day...   Shocked
