“I have the coronavirus. So far, it hasn’t been that bad for me.“

 Feb. 28, 2020 at 5:53 p.m. EST

“I have the coronavirus. And it hasn’t been that bad.
I am in my late 60s, and the sickest I’ve ever been was when I had bronchitis several years ago. That laid me out on my back for a few days. This has been much easier: no chills, no body aches. I breathe easily, and I don’t have a stuffy nose. My chest feels tight, and I have coughing spells. If I were at home with similar symptoms, I probably would have gone to work as usual.”

Biologically speaking we are all the same. Heart, lungs, liver, intestines, kidneys, nervous system, so on and so forth. However we are all different metaphysically, meaning my heart may be better than yours but your respiratory system may be better than mine. Your kidneys may be better than your spouse’s but your spouse may have a stronger overall immune system. How this effects each individual will vary just like the common cold, the flu and most any illness out there.

Thankfully school was on vacation all week. School closed Thurs and Friday the week before that due to weather. I was sick as a dog starting  Monday night with vomiting.

Still have congested sinus. And shortness of breath. None of the other drivers have been ill.

Where did it come from?

Kids on bus?
Gym?
Grocery cart?

Who knows and no one is trying to track down the cause.

I do hate having a week off work and being basically housebound.

Hoorah for Amazon Prime and Netflix.

I don't want it.   If I have to get it,  I'd rather get it eight months from now than tomorrow.  Lots of unknowns still, and scientists are learning more everyday.

I’ll be honest with ya, I’m not overly concerned about this thing. I live about 50-60 miles from 5 international airports and we don’t have any cases yet that I’m aware of.

I was never concerned about Ebola, Swine Flu, Avian Flu, SARS, MERSA, or any of the other “crisis” illnesses which crossed our boarders in the past. Those illnesses along with this one is out of our “control”, meaning it’s a virus, it comes and goes at its own discretion. It’s an illness, it’s a form of the flu, it’s fightable. Will people catch it, get sick and die...probably but just like any other virus it’s typically those with weak, compromised immune systems or other health issues which make fighting it more difficult.

The origin of it is more intriguing to me, just like those other illnesses I listed. To be honest I was more concerned about HIV/AIDS in the ‘80’s than I am about this newest virus, that was a crazy time. We’re are not facing a bubonic plague here. I have complete faith in the WHO, CDC as well as all the medical professionals and organizations working to find a solution to this and I believe this will come to pass as all those others have.
