I ordered some o-rings and springs for the pilot jets.  Then I read that you need the tool to get the jets out so I ordered that.  Now after looking at the pilot jets Im wondering why a tiny screwdriver wouldnt do the job of taking the pilot screws out?  Im pretty sure they are the screws you can easly see just under the chrome bar that runs along the carbs....1 per carb.....Thanks

You assume wrong. Those are the float bowl drain screws. The pilot screws are on the back of the carb facing down and up in a hole. Take a mirror and put under the rear of the carb and you'll see the screws. Then again if you are looking at the choke rail you might be looking at the sync screws.

Like 3W said, those are the carb synch screws. Don’t remove them. I wouldn’t touch them till you’ve got the new pilot screws in. Then you should do a carb synch. There might be someone near you with a tool for doing this.
