If you wanted to go all out, and have the spikiest powerband ever (and an absolutely unrideable bike) - I bet 1000 HP is possible.

Honda was doing great things when they raced 4 strokes in the largely 2stroke GP races. They had 125 and 250 CC multicylinders motors that could turn 20,000 RPM - until they ran out of gas...

that is impressive for 3 cylinder even beats the rocket III 3 banger by far.

however,  am trying to avoid as long as possible twin turbo engines they are known for failures prematurely before 100K miles and unfortunately,  almost all mfgs. are going twin turbos with less displacement.  NO thanks.

so you get the same hp/torque in a small 4 cylinder twin turbo engine car as a normally aspirated V6 engine as I got in our SUV.  which one do you think should last longer with less issues?  Plus,  I like the exhaust sound of my V8 truck vs. any twin turbo ecoboost engine ford has out now, not that exhaust note really matters.  I cranked up last winter my tundra in the cold with neighbor outside nearby him not knowing I was starting my V8 truck and that V8 roars LOUDLY upon first initial cold startup scaring him made him jump was funny.   Grin     Then again, did that again him mowing the grass last summer on his john deere riding mower with my Valks cobra LOUD exhaust ripping it up the street in town waking up the neighborhood.   Grin

5 horses per inch is impressive.  Porsche has some of their comp engines producing that.

This technology has come so far. Years ago my nephew brought me a 2 stroke dirt bike cylinder to show him how to port it. I had never looked at anything like that monster before. Things change so fast.

Reed valves in that 2 stroke? Curious minds and likea dat. I learned the hard way you should NOT cut a rotary valve on a 2 stroke more than 180 degrees.  Lips Sealed RIDE SAFE.

No, it was a port engine. I don't remember a reed in it, but, it was a long time ago. I've worked on many reed engines though.
