Who would of thought that the lil brass bushing in the lever, if worn , could keep
the clutch from total disengagement ?? Not me ! So after a slave cylinder rebuild & several
bleedings that was the icing on the cake !!! Bushing & lever well worn supporting sloppy lever syndrome!
Once again , thanks to this form and all that contribute!!!

Yep, a lot cheaper too. I can't believe they get $10 + for that little chunck of brass. It is used on many different models.

 Grin Clutch lever bushing:
The Honda part Number 2285-MBO-006 Cost $10
The Suzuki part number 59892-08A00 Cost $3 and is the same size as the Honda. They are interchangeable.  cooldude

When I changed out the stock clutch and brake levers for the Kury wide levers I have now I figured new bushings should be installed with the new levers. Kury wide non adjustable for the curious. Makes a rather noticeable rather nice change for old arthritic fingers.  2funny RIDE SAFE.

Well fudge ! The easy fix didn’t last and turned into what m thinkin is the rivet thing in the clutch !
After very few miles after the bushing , lever fix (and I was loving it ! ) boom ! Like something came loose and now back to no disengagement , way worse than before, and the lever only half way to the grip
Syndrome!  Thought it was weird to happen after the bushing fix ? I have begun tear down for
clutch repair ! Anyone else experience this sequence?

That sounds similar to the symptoms I experienced when the clutch damper plate failed.

Yes, sounds like the rivets in the plate coming loose. 1 or more between the plates, and it wont release as it takes up the room. Then it moves/falls out, and the clutch works fine again. Then boom, it's in the way again, and the problem is there.

A lot of online info on the issue and fixing it.

+1 I think the sequence after replacing the bushing is just coincidence. The job seems kind of daunting, but it's not bad once you get into it. Matt, a member here from New Hampshire was kind enough to loan me a clutch basket and some tools that he rigged up, which helped a lot. Might pm him, I'm sure he'd make you the same offer.

Well tore into it , got clutch out ,first thing I saw  were rivets on the bottom of case. Upon clutch review quite obvious the damper gave out , separated & jambed with in the friction plates. Very minor scratch on
basket from bad disc. I can’t see how that would effect operation, I’m hoping ! Gonna get some estimates
from a couple metric shops & see what they say. Your opinions appreciated greatly !
PS thanks Disco & ValkPilot for the references and help gettin thru tear down !
