No, not that positive post. In the face of seemingly perpetual bad news and disaster from all sides (which we've been regularly discussing), I'm going to try to make a 180. With warming spring weather (and extra time at home), I'm getting outside and servicing my motorized equipment. Lots of carburetors and a couple oil changes, and general cleanup, and a little exercise (and sore knees), and a positive attitude listening to chirping happy birds. The other day, after work, I was able to sit on on my deck in the afternoon sun and cool breeze with no shirt on and do nothing but find beauty in the day. I haven't done much of that lately. Every harry homeowner has projects that need attended to, which we like to put off, so now is a good time to do them. Any good news or happy thoughts (or good humor) out there?

Funny you should mention that! I've been making a list of projects. Built a makeshift work table in my smallest shed yesterday and installed a very nice vise that had been sitting new in box yesterday. If I remember correctly it was a $130 value Olympia vise with anvil and quick release that I purchased with Sportsman's Guide membership and coupons for $35 free shipping. Never owned a nice vise before, now I'm just looking for things to squeeze since the lady is getting tired of me in these cooped up quarantine times! She's a beauty! I'm beaming with pride. Silver Bullet next, extensive list.

Yes, but a Terminal Post would have been confusing.

I’ve been taking advantage of the moderate temps to spend some time in the attic. I have been replacing old can lights that just use a friction fit for the light trims to new cans that use the tension wires to pull the new led lights up tighter to the ceiling. Changed a dozen so far and that’s it for replacements but may be adding some extras in a few places. I also hung a new ceiling fan in the living room so I’m finally done with the 16’ high ceiling work. This is one of the rooms I changed the ceiling from white to the same as the walls. The ongoing hardwood flooring job hit a major milestone, the master bedroom is finished.

Wow nice work John. I'm considerably less adept in these matters. We have a 68 year old neighbor installing a COREtec floor for us after a major kitchen plumbing leak late last fall after I was rear ended on my bike last summer. He didn't tart until recently because of the long cold winter and needing to saw outside, etc.. Anyway, he got it almost finished and yesterday he stopped because of the serious coronavirus outbreak in our Valley and small understaffed and underequipped hospital. He has had severe pneumonia two times before and his doctor wants him to be extra careful.

Thanks guys, I still have several hundreds of feet to lay after the paint work is finished in a couple more rooms. Refreshing change since I pulled up the carpet and all the tile work over a year ago. I’m 67 and with my other health issues everyone is all in my face about the virus. I know it’s serious business but I don’t tend to worry much about it.

Very nice work there John. Sleeping in those chairs must be rough though. Thanks but the chairs are for watching a little tv when I need to get away from the twin grandsons for a while. Thank goodness the basement has a full bathroom and hvac although far from what you could call finished living space but that’s where I have been sleeping for a year now.

Really I think basements are the best place to sleep (and for bedrooms) because they are always much cooler than (hot) upstairs bedrooms. And you don't need a view; you sleep there.
Even with central air (and good siding and insulation, and a big canopy of trees over the house), my upstairs bedroom is oppressively hot in summer. So I run a small window unit and close the doors so I don't sweat in bed.
My (split level) basement is the biggest family/living-room in the house, or I'd make it my bedroom.
But they almost never design homes that way.

Making an effort to do at least one project a day/at a time as I'm recently retired. Working on a surface grinder electrics in the garage for possible use/resale. Waiting for the weather to get out of the snow season so I can kick out the 4600 Ford tractor and get working on the Valk.

Tis a rather cool snowy morning here in Southern Oregon. I am not really complaining about the snow, though would rather be planning on going for a ride. BUT we need the moisture, lots of moisture or its going to be a long dry summer for the farmers in our Basin. Also the snow will put off me turning on the water system.
So yeah I am trying to be positive. We only have one case of the Virus in our County. Nothing new for over a week. have food in the freezer and cabinets, gas in the vehicles, heat in our home. What more could one want for now, other than going for a ride.
