The flu has already killed 10,000 across US as world frets over coronavirus The flu remains a higher threat to U.S. public health than the new coronavirus. This flu season alone has sickened at least 19 million across the U.S. and led to 10,000 deaths and 180,000 hospitalizations. At least 19 million people have come down with the flu in the U.S. with 180,000 ending up in the hospital, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The flu season, which started in September and can run until May, is currently at its peak and poses a greater health threat to the U.S. than the new coronavirus, physicians say. https://www.cnbc.com/2020/02/03/the-flu-has-already-killed-10000-across-us-as-world-frets-over-coronavirus.html

The Latest Update The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) released its U.S. Influenza Surveillance Report for the week ending March 14, with the total deaths this season at 23,000 and the highest number of children and people age 18-49 requiring hospitalization since the 2009 H1N1 pandemic. “Hospitalization rates for school-aged children (5-17 years) are higher than any recent regular season but remain lower than rates experienced by this age group during the pandemic,” the report said. Five influenza-associated pediatric deaths occurring during the 2019-20 season were reported this week. The total pediatric deaths for the season is 149. CDC estimates that so far this season there have been at least 38 million flu illnesses, 390,000 hospitalizations and 23,000 deaths from flu. https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2020/03/22/influenza-update-23000-u-s-deaths-more-children-18-49-year-olds-hospitalized-than-during-2009-h1n1-pandemic/

sky high medical insurance, new hospital that have been built interiors like 500k-million plus houses. they are built under size needed to support a crisis in the surrounding area. they was the requirement decades ago until greedy corporations took over and got the govt to just their rules. every governor who has shut down a state has stated not enough bed capacity etc. all of that fed tax dollars and high premiums have made some very wealthy.

Don't see much to argue with there! this is why I see something more hideous going on. before murphy said he decided to lock down the state, he stated he talked to pelosi, shummer and mendez basically getting his marching orders before ordered the shutdown. however crowds are still allow when at food markets. https://www.fox5ny.com/news/gov-murphy-vows-action-to-enforce-nj-stay-at-home-order

to further my case of the cover up of governor by shutting down states. and now they are letting out criminals from jail who usually get a job in restaurants, oh wait they're all closed by governors. how are they going to get money to eat? I know philadelphia pa said the they will not arrest people for small crimes. https://thehill.com/opinion/healthcare/488783-americas-hospitals-are-unprepared-for-coronavirus-heres-why-you-shouldAccording to a 2018 survey by the American Hospital Association, hospitals in the United States have a total of 924,100 beds, about 2.8 hospital beds per 1,000 people. (This includes all of the beds currently occupied by patients.) By comparison, this figure is exceptionally low. Italy has 3.2 beds per 1,000 people. China has 4.3 beds per 1,000 people. France has 6.5 per 1,000, and South Korea has 12 hospital beds for every 1,000 of its citizens. In the midst of a deadly pandemic, a lack of hospital beds can be potentially catastrophic. The sicker a population gets, the more people – especially older citizens – will need to be hospitalized. Even if hospitals were to add emergency beds, it’s likely they would be unable to meet the incredible demand that would exist if the coronavirus infects millions of people.

do u only read headlines or do u do research? its has been documented mostly all are old people already in poor health and many illegal invaders from syria who already have diseases and extremely poor hygiene habits and while eating in Italy. their health care system is not like America's system. this virus causes pneumonia in many people, which kills many older people. Pneumonia is always a high concern for older people it kills many. I'm sure you know that, u are a smart person.

https://www.rt.com/op-ed/483758-coronavirus-constitutional-rights-government/Governments across America already used the pandemic, and the media-stoked panic around the pandemic particularly, to limit, restrict or remove First Amendment freedoms of speech and free association, with officials complaining about the potential restraints the freedom of religion imposed upon them. Others denied or declared the right to deny Second Amendment rights of gun purchase for personal safety (at a time governments are issuing no-arrest and no-detention orders for a wide range of crimes in their community while publicly freeing inmates from jails and prisons). They want to coordinate with tech companies to surveil and spy on your everyday movements and activities, in violation of the Fourth Amendment and potentially waive, unilaterally, your medical right to privacy in multiple contexts. Stay-at-home orders deprive you of your profession, occupation, business and property, without any due process of law at all beyond an executive fiat in violation of the Fifth Amendment right to due process. Governments request the authority to involuntarily imprison any American on mere fear of infection without any probable cause of crime or clear and present danger of harm by that person’s volitional conduct, deny access to personal counsel in an unsupervised, un-surveilled manner in violation of the Sixth Amendment, and act as judge, jury and executioner in violation of the Seventh Amendment right to a trial by jury, as jury trials themselves get suspended around the country in the nation’s quieted courts and fear-muted public. The real pandemic threat is here. It’s the panic that will quarantine our Constitution.

Doctors at the Memorial Regional Hospital in South Florida diagnosed him with the coronavirus and pneumonia and put him on oxygen in the ICU, he told the outlet. After more than a week, doctors told him there was nothing more they could do and, on Friday evening, Giardinieri said goodbye to his wife and three children. “I was at the point where I was barely able to speak and breathing was very challenging,” Giardinieri said. “I really thought my end was there.” Then a friend sent him a recent article about hydroxychloroquine, a prescription drug that’s been used to treat malaria for decades and auto-immune diseases like lupus. Overseas studies have found it to be promising as a treatment for COVID-19, though it hasn’t been approved by health officials. Trump last week said he was instructing the FDA to fast-track testing of hydroxychloroquine and a related drug, chloroquine, as treatment for COVID-19. Giardinieri said he contacted an infectious disease doctor about the drug. “He gave me all the reasons why I would probably not want to try it because there are no trials, there’s no testing, it was not something that was approved,” said Giardinieri. “And I said, ‘Look, I don’t know if I’m going to make it until the morning,’ because at that point I really thought I was coming to the end because I couldn’t breathe anymore,” Giardinieri continued. “He agreed and authorized the use of it and 30 minutes later the nurse gave it to me.”

The United States could soon become the global epicenter of the coronavirus pandemic after a 'very large acceleration' in cases https://www.businessinsider.com/coronavirus-world-health-organisation-us-epicentre-pandemic-donald-trump-covid-2020-3Yup, the tinfoil is strong in that one. This year, Townhall columnist Jack Kerwick cites Centers for Disease Control data to remind us “that between October and Feb. 22, there have been 45 million cases of the flu in the United States, 560,000 hospitalizations, and 46,000 fatalities.” Yet because the flu hits so many people during flu season, the death toll is high. Last year, in the 2018-2019 flu season, 61,000 Americans died from the flu, about 12 times the total global toll for COVID-19 so far. The season before that, it was 80,000 dead. How do the 4,700 COVID-19 deaths worldwide stack up so far to deaths from the plain old flu? Michael Fumento, who has written extensively on epidemics and science for three decades, reminded us earlier this week in the New York Post: “Flu, by comparison, grimly reaps about 291,000 to 646,000 annually.” Where’s the hysteria over that? https://issuesinsights.com/2020/03/13/time-to-end-coronavirus-hysteria-and-focus-on-saving-some-lives/

More than 18,000 Americans have died from this season’s generic flu so far, according to the latest data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. In 2018, the CDC estimated, there were 80,000 flu deaths. That’s against 19 coronavirus deaths so far, from about 470 cases. Worldwide, there have been about 3,400 coronavirus deaths, out of about 100,000 identified cases. Flu, by comparison, grimly reaps about 291,000 to 646,000 annually. China is the origin of the virus and still accounts for over 80 percent of cases and deaths. But its cases peaked and began declining more than a month ago, according to data presented by the Canadian epidemiologist who spearheaded the World Health Organization’s coronavirus mission to China. Fewer than 200 new cases are reported daily, down from a peak of 4,000. https://nypost.com/2020/03/08/coronavirus-going-to-hit-its-peak-and-start-falling-sooner-than-you-think/

More than 18,000 Americans have died from this season’s generic flu so far, according to the latest data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. In 2018, the CDC estimated, there were 80,000 flu deaths. That’s against 19 coronavirus deaths so far, from about 470 cases.Worldwide, there have been about 3,400 coronavirus deaths, out of about 100,000 identified cases. Fewer than 200 new cases are reported daily, down from a peak of 4,000. https://nypost.com/2020/03/08/coronavirus-going-to-hit-its-peak-and-start-falling-sooner-than-you-think/Not accurate anymore. The world has overtaken China in both cases and deaths. Both areaccelerating, fast. https://gisanddata.maps.arcgis.com/apps/opsdashboard/index.html#/bda7594740fd40299423467b48e9ecf6

You must be reading old stats. Current count worldwide is over 417,000 cases reported and over 18,000 deaths. In the U.S. we're reporting about 53,000 cases and 685 deaths. China accounts for 19% of worldwide cases and 18% of worldwide deaths. Honestly, I don't trust Chinese reporting. Comparing annual flu to COVID-19 is not meaningful. There is no vaccine for COVID-19; it appears to be more easily transmitted; and it's death percentage is higher. Also it is early on it's cycle as opposed to the annual flu whose numbers are pretty well finished for the year. Contrary to what Valkorado has said you don't win. Your numbers and assessment are way off. Many of us may believe some of the steps we've taken are more extreme than needed but COVID-19 is dangerous and needs to be addressed.

Eight hundred deaths in Italy two days ago! Doesn't sound too snuggling hyped up to me....JHC
do u only read headlines or do u do research? its has been documented mostly all are old people already in poor health and many illegal invaders from syria who already have diseases and extremely poor hygiene habits and while eating in Italy. their health care system is not like America's system. this virus causes pneumonia in many people, which kills many older people. Pneumonia is always a high concern for older people it kills many. I'm sure you know that, u are a smart person. I guess it's all good. According to 98, it's only mowing down worthless old folk and dirty illegals. It won't kill the good clean God fearing folk here in America, especially not in our superior health institutions. Whew!
The United States could soon become the global epicenter of the coronavirus pandemic after a 'very large acceleration' in cases https://www.businessinsider.com/coronavirus-world-health-organisation-us-epicentre-pandemic-donald-trump-covid-2020-3Yup, the tinfoil is strong in that one. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2020-03-18/99-of-those-who-died-from-virus-had-other-illness-italy-says“The average age of those who’ve died from the virus in Italy is 79.5. As of March 17, 17 people under 50 had died from the disease. All of Italy’s victims under 40 have been males with serious existing medical conditions.”

to further my case of the cover up of governor by shutting down states. and now they are letting out criminals from jail who usually get a job in restaurants, oh wait they're all closed by governors. how are they going to get money to eat? Even if hospitals were to add emergency beds, it’s likely they would be unable to meet the incredible demand that would exist if the coronavirus infects millions of people. wow exactly like I posted. state shutdown to cover up the corruption. http://shorenewsnetwork.com/2020/04/06/covid-19-exposes-fatal-flaw-at-the-jersey-shore-too-many-people-not-enough-infrastructure/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=facebook

Here's why experts are worried we won't have enough hospital beds to handle a surge of coronavirus patients And yet, in many of these country with higher ratios of beds/population, you have to be put on a waiting list for a procedure. I read a recent post from one of our Canadian brothers who will not be attending an annual ride because he's on the list for a procedure. Here, in the good ole U.S. of A. he would have had the procedure, his after care, and physical therapy already and would be Pow Wowing with the rest of them.
