Not only that, but make all their statements be in front of podiums and lights and cameras and reporters and millions watching, and watch the ordinary man choke and stutter and slur his words. Try a jury trial in front of a crowded courtroom with an opponent waiting to object to whatever you ask or say, and a judge sitting in judgment. Public speaking is not for the faint at heart, and it takes practice. And you still screw up. And when you screw up, you just keep going.... you have to. DJT is a pretty good speaker nonetheless.... but public speaking is not even in the top 10 things a good president needs to be good at. (though it helps around election time) |

Actually a fair number of their examples were simply making light of his New York pronunciation. Well, you know, for many people "it's any port in a storm". They see and hear what they want to hear. |
