Pulled intakes out this morning to check O rings and everything is tight. All intake screws tight, outbox tubes seated tight, everything sync'd with digisync and within 1 of each other at idle and within 2 of each other at 2500. Still not quite right. Some of you carb masters out there can probably listen to this and tell me what it is without even thinking twice. Me, shoot I am out of brain cells. <iframe width="560" height="315" src=" https://www.youtube.com/embed/HgADjgapPPg" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe>

I'll be up front and say I have a "tin ear" when it comes to engine diagnostics, but your Valkyrie engine sounds pretty much like my Valkyrie engine (in fact, I'll even say it idles smoother). What sounds or symptoms exactly are you referring to or concerned with?
It sounded like the fan kicked on toward the end of the clip, but that's not unusual when syncing the carbs, etc.
Sorry I can't be of much help. I'll be interested to hear the opinions of the true experts.

I'll clarify. At first I thought it was possibly a vacuum leak. I get a little skip and some popping coming on the right side of the bike. It just is not as smooth as I am used to almost sounds like a cylinder isn't firing, however, it does pretty good until it gets up toward 2000 rpms. I am wondering if the high speeds are kicking in early on one carb or maybe not kicking in on one which is leading to a lean mixture and the popping. Wish I knew how to "read" the plugs when things aren't sounding good. Where is RickyD when you need him??
By the way, Carb idle screws are set for 2 turns out now. Originally were set for 2.25 but smelled like she was running really rich on that, and was still skipping a little then. Set them to 2 turns out and does not smell as rich but still got the popping and skipping sound when the RPM's start turning up some.

Where is the fuel supply. If you are running of the carb fill , it could be a problem. Get an IV bottle for a good fuel supply. Then retest. Check for a loose or improperly attached tube from the air box to the intake runners.

Prez, I had a plastic bottle of fuel attached to the fuel intake previously. Went out to take a quick video and dint re-connect, but symptoms were still the same. Even when I installed the tank I was having the same problem. Question on the airbox connections. The two hoses that come out of the 3way air joints in the carbs are supposed to run back to a T and then back to the Airbox, correct?
Techron isn't going to do it. Just pulled these carbs and went through them and this is fresh gas going in.
Thanks for the plug reading link.

Hey 98, what is that supposed to do? Are you talking about the rubber washer or brass washer?

[/quote] those 2 air hoses turn and go thru the 2 holes in the chrome end bracket. They are open and do not connect to anything. This pic shows the holes but the hoses aren't in place as they should be.

I believe 98 is saying to add one of the tiny tiny washers under the head of the long needle you came upon under the chrome caps. It enriches the front 2 carbs some as they are last in line for fuel delivery. Not sure where you can find those tiny suckers just yet.

correct, front fuel bowls are fed from the middle carbs fuel bowls. Marc the owner of FactoryPro.com came up with this after the dyno work he did on a valkyrie. it makes a nice difference adding those washers. I used this for washers https://www.radioshack.com/products/assorted-flat-washers?variant=20331810821

LOL, I think I would have better luck finding new carbs. Seriously though., Thanks for the advice. Definitely will give it a try. Time to go shopping for new washers.
