I've been on the forum for about 5 months, I think. Anyway, got a lot of help when I ditched the Goldwing I had, and bought a 2000 Standard bumblebee, 12k miles, that had issues from sitting for a long time. Got everything sorted out after about 3 months, and she's been running great for the last couple of months.
Pulled a Mini Mate popup camper with the GW, and just finished putting the harness and hitch on the Valkyrie, to do the same. Test run was perfect. Just like the Wing, wouldn't know the trailer was back there, if you didn't see it in the mirrors.
Thought I would touch base with this Florida based bunch and see who might be in and around the Tallahassee area. I did see that there were some of you around the Milton area, which is where my brother-in-law lives.
Anyway, got to say, this forum was a great help in getting the Valk going.

Welcome from Central Florida. By coincidence, my wife and I are poking around the real estate market up around Quincy and the lake area. One of the areas we are looking at anyway! Not too far from you. Welcome to the Florida group. Amazing group of people we have among us and we are happy to have you. Of course none of this happened without pics from you, you understand!

Welcome to the group. Ex rider here but still try to keep up with the many friends that we have made over the last 20 or so years. There are a few shady characters in the group so when you make one of the rides to eat be sure you have taken pictures of your bike just in case some chrome parts go missing.

Lots of you guys and gals from Central Florida. My home stomping grounds were there. My dad and I both were born and raised in Lakeland. Still get down there now and then, but boy has it changed over the last 50 years. Of course it's changed everywhere in the last 50 years.

Greetings and welcome. We too need to have a Yellow/Black part of the team in the pan-handle. Yeah, there are a few of us just west of you off of I-10. I actually grew up in Tallahassee and still have family there. I do get there with work too. I am in Milton with a couple valk buddies, a few in Pensacola that I know of, 1- Navarra, 1- Crestview, 2 Ft. Walton that I know of or that we jointly know of over here. I do ride to Tallahassee to visit family/friends so perhaps we could meet up at Bradley's Country Store for a sausage dog! I don't hardly leave there without bringing some home. There was a Silver/ Green IS in Tallahassee but I couldn't get a response from the guy so left him alone. There is a Valk brother in Perry and a pretty good machanic at that. He is at the Souther Valkyrie Riders site, Wood Butcher, he is retired and gets out on frequent rides your way. Look him up, pretty good guy too. If you ever want to get in a weekend ride somewhere let me know, especially if you are planning to come this way. Saturdays is a RTE for us over here, most every Saturday. (Ride to Eat)

(Ride to Eat) Thanks for the info! I'm retired also, so pretty much ride somewhere at least every other day. I run over to Perry now and then, just to eat at Deal's Oyster House. Since everyone has gone to takeout, with this virus thing, I have about quit on that, for now. I run down to St Marks quite a bit. Have a couple of buddies that live on a boat down there. Sold mine about 5 months ago. Been planning to head over toward Milton, for quite some time, just haven't done it. Made a trip to Niceville recently, and a couple to Navarre, in the last year. I was planning a trip to Wyoming the end of May, but again, waiting for this virus thing to run it's course, now. I also scuba dive, so going to see how loading a couple of tanks and all the other gear in the Mini Mate works out. If so, I'll plan a dive/camping trip over your way. BTW, in looking at the least of folks planning to go to the InZaneXX, I saw a couple of names from Crawfordville. Might be able to hook up with those, too.

Just give me a heads up if you're coming this way. I'm not retired so weekends are ideal. I ran over to Tallahassee today. My dad passed away last May and my mom sold the house today and put a contract on a new one. I was there for support along w/ my brother from Atlanta. I picked up a few things and came back to Milton. I grew up in North East Tallahassee, Killearn area what part of Tallahassee are you in? Also, Wood Butcher and his wife will be going to InZane and he is in Perry. My cousin and I are going and you'll see our names on the list, Keith & cuz John Ingram. We will go due north out of Milton thru AL and you are more than welcome to ride up with us if you'd like. Just let me know and we can discuss the plans. We will catch up at some point. Be safe....

I have a Tallahassee address, but live about 15 miles east, over between Capitola and Lloyd. Barely in Leon County.
Everything is up in the air about trips, this year. Waiting to see how long it takes for this virus to run it's course. Then I had been planning a trip to Wyoming, but may do InZane instead, or possibly both. Anyway, I will let you know if I decide to head that way. I've been wanting to get up to the museum at Maggie Valley, for awhile, too. Might do both of those.
I checked the group Wood Butcher is with. They're on FB, and since I don't do FB, guess I can't get in there.

A lot of us went up and stayed in Maggie in 2015. The museum is a must see in my book. Not on FB either but we sort of try to keep this Florida section going to get the word out.
