Time enjoy wasted is not wasted time

Nanuet, NY

« on: April 07, 2020, 11:36:32 PM »

Today was a great day I was able to get out for at least a short  ride about an hour, just enough to get the juices flowing!
With a little luck I will have lots more days like this in the near future.
With everything going on in NY these days we need to be thankful for the little things.

I hope everyone is staying healthy and hopefully happy as well!

Got in 215 miles yesterday     I rode with my bandana over my face      I took 2 water bottles and 2 snacks with me        I didn't get around any other persons     I held gas pump with a paper towel and when finished I sanitized my hands , credit card, and keys     we are supposed to be staying home in this area but I see nothing wrong with riding by myself   I was not a threat to society.....in my opinion

I agree... we just started our "lockdown" yesterday, so I'm
not sure what to make of it.

There's a vinegar-based BBQ place near us that we've been
going to ever since they opened around 30 years ago. All
the restaurants in SC (like most places) have been
take-out only for several weeks or more now. We've been
going out there for take-out each weekend lately, and
eating our BBQ hot in the car in the parking lot... I hope they
are still open now that there's a "lockdown"...

What is South Carolina lockdown like?  IN WI suppose to stay at home if at all possible, but you can pretty much go anywhere you want on the roads the police are not going to stop you from driving around anywhere, but like most places,  they are closed so traffic is non-existent even on the Interstates in WI.   I saw the drive thru at the best fast food joint chain around being Culvers restaurant in 2 nearby bigger towns and could not believe there were about 15 cars backed up onto the main road to get thru the drive thru.  Sorry, but the food is made fresh for all and not waiting am sure close to 40 minutes sitting in a drive thru to get a hamburger and fries.

Dave

I was out the past 2 days riding around Harriman state park and through 106.

These next 2 days will be rain so I will stay home.

Have a happy Passover.

May the angel of death pass all of you by in the night.   (why they call it Passover after all)

We are having a virtual Zoom seder. Will surely be different but will have people from all over the country
that otherwise we would not see  Strange times indeed

Did go for a nice 160 mile ride yesterday.  Temps finally got back to the 60's and sun came out.  Lot better than the low 40's and clouds skies I rode in last week.   The rains and snow appear to have stopped for now.  Right now and probably for most of month, I am looking a loop rides that will only take a tank of gas to cut down on interactions at the pump.

The filling of tank is still an issue.  At least don't have to have an attendant do the credit card and hand me the pump now.   Big change.  Did do the two paper towels thing so I didn't touch any thing with bare hands.   Also the attendants, who used to pump our gas, are now doing a sort of sanitizing units between folks using the pumps.  interesting.
