This is N.J. folks, how much truth is in this I don’t know and this is a very liberal news source that slams anything conservative or Republican every chance it gets.

https://www.nj.com/coronavirus/2020/04/half-of-those-who-died-of-coronavirus-in-nj-had-these-underlying-medical-conditions.html

Updated 4:28 PM; Today 3:50 PM (Friday 4/10)

Nearly half of the nearly 2,000 people who have died of the coronavirus in New Jersey had known underlying health issues, state officials said Friday.

At least 923 of the 1,932 deceased residents had some form of pre-existing medical condition, officials said during the state’s daily coronavirus press briefing in Trenton.

Here’s the breakdown of those with underlying medical conditions:

29% had cardiovascular disease;

17% had diabetes;

10% had chronic lung disease;

7% chronic had renal disease;

7% had neurologic conditions;

6% had cancer.

Officials said another 15% had other chronic conditions.

Cardiovascular diseases include hypertension, which is common in the U.S., said Edward Lifshitz, medical director of the state Health Department’s communicable disease service.

Lifschitz suggested caution when looking at the numbers.

“We get more and more information on people who die than people who don’t die,” he said. “That information comes in somewhat slowly, so we don’t get it all at one time.”

New Jersey now has at least 54,588 cases of COVID-19 after officials Friday reported 3,627 new positive tests and 233 new deaths. Only New York has more cases and deaths among U.S. states.

Many folks who died with underlying issues were living with those conditions before they got COVID.    coolsmiley

Like I am living with mine,  and have for decades.
