Serk, I think it was you that does some barreling of distillation.

With staying at home, I've been going down some rabbit holes, and this one is something I have always wanted to do, but living in a townhouse with no extra room, makes it very difficult.

Here is a guy I liked watching and his explanations.

I was always wondering about the barrels. I expect they are expensive.

Just as another hole, there is making your own cheeses too. Maybe this will be a different topic?

I've looked all over the internet on how too, but had never tried youtube before, and I found just what I was looking for.

Yup, I've dabbled in it, I was going to post a link to the place I got my barrels from but alas it looks like they might be having problems and may or may not be an ongoing concert, but smaller barrels (1-5 gallons) like I used shouldn't be TOO expensive, $50 or so give or take depending on size...

I'll poke around a bit and see if I can find a replacement company that's still making barrels.

One word of caution, with the smaller barrels the ratio of surface area to product going in is GREATLY enhanced, so that a first fill barrel should be monitored CLOSELY so that it doesn't get over oaked!

What could be nicely handled for years in a large barrel might become over oaked in just a few months in a smaller barrel; I made that mistake once!
