Well, wife is getting pissed about losing her garage while I am "working" from home right now. So, I got the black IS running and decided to focus on the standard the last couple days. Got her fired up off the battery jumper, but battery is shot. Kept running carb cleaner in her and draining the bowls to make sure fuel was making it in properly. Ran to town and grabbed the new Napa battery and plugs this morning and put it in. Hit the starter and got the "clunk". Crap. Really didn't want to pull the carbs and was hoping to get everything running again without it, but guess things are changing now. So, Pulled the plugs, rolled her out of the garage, hit the starter and EPA now coming to get me for that huge gas cloud! Three cylinders blew gas. I guess it is time to clean up the table from the last carbs and start ordering parts. This one has never been desmogged and is still all factory, so while she is apart I guess it will be time to do it up right.

Buy her a car cover... and call it good. This is about the best one out there, and lasts. https://www.carcoverworld.com/covercraft-noah-car-coverThe trick with them, is to roll them up front to back; then carry the rolled up cover out and and go back to front. I have no garage, and the wife's Marauder hot rod sits under one.

if the car cover is short term find one at wally wurld. I got one for Phatt Ghurl at wally wurld and while i don't use that much it's still good. 4 5? year ago I believe. Far as yer carbs go-least ways ya didn't turn yer bike and garage into a BBQ! RIDE SAFE.

Sounds like petcock failure to blow fuel from 3 cylinders. There's a lot of head pressure on the fuel system if the tank was full and combined with possibly worn float valves.

I'm curious if it was three random cylinders, or were they all on one side of the motor.

Check your oil level, that much gas could leak down into the crack case.

To answer the questions, the fuel blow actually surprised me. Fuel blew from 1, 2, and 4. Only had one gallon of gas in the tank as I was working toward getting her running again and hoping to get those carbs pretty clean without actually pulling them. No luck. So, not all leaks on the same side. Considering going to Pingle, just haven't made up my mind yet. Definitely will check the oil. These two bikes have been sitting for 5 years so both are getting full fluid changes, oil, coolant, clutch and brake. Oh, and gas.
I had actually told Bob the attic rat that this bank of carbs would be coming his way, but now that all this work from home stuff has kicked in, what else am I going to do. Time to order an All Balls kit I guess.
So, big question for me. Go for the old school de-smog or the shiny de-smog? Or replace all the hoses and keep the pair system in place?

Wouldn't use anything from All Balls. Iffy quality at best.

Well jets were so clogged I was thinking about new jets all the way around, but now I just ordered and ultrasonic cleaner. Think I will go with Redeye Rich's kit and just clean everything else up with the Ultrasonic that is on the way.
I guess I can start on the de-smog while I am waiting. Oh wait, got to wait on those parts too if I am going to do the shiny de-smog kit.

Their (All Balls) carb rebuild kit is all Chinese junk....I ordered one and after looking at the poor quality parts it was sent back. I get the rebuild kit from redeyetech and the jets/float valves from Sudco. I had to rebuild my carbs two summers ago due to bike’s extended sitting while recovering from major back surgery. I bought a spare carb set sometime around 2007 or 2008 while they were still relatively cheap. I did a full rebuild last summer with all new parts, including floats, jets tubing, and redeyetech kit with screws sets. I even bought new rubber isolators for the intakes. This is in a tub with all my other spares for the next time I have to refurb the carbs on the bike...simple swap, then have time to go through the carbs without having the bike sit. Makes me appreciate EFI on my Rocket 3... No offense to those that like the All Balls stuff, just not for me.

Thanks. I emailed Rich yesterday or maybe Saturday, shoot they all are running together now. But basically need everything in the kit except all the tools and screws. Couldn't find all of the o-rings without ordering the full kits. Haven't heard back but waiting on that. Oh, and the ultrasonic I ordered. I seriously need to go back to work just to save money.

The ultrasonic cleaner will serve you well for many tasks...I’m jealous. Someday maybe...
