So, a test run of super valking my interstate went wrong. I removed the trunk and loved the look, but wasnt ready to commit so I put it back on. When I connected my trunk lights back up they came on and stayed on... Forever!  The two outside lights are on even when I remove the key and will stay on indefinitely. Checked voltage at the connector and I've got constant voltage on one wire. Ideas?

I’m on my first interstate so not too  familiar with them yet. As far as I know there should not be a constant hot to the trunk at all. Maybe check to see if you pinched wires somewhere. Even if a brake light switch stuck the lights should go off with the key. Also maybe check the relays. On could be stuck in the on position. Probably a simple fix when you find it. Good luck.

Having just gone through this I made a schematic, crude as it may be, that may help.

A is the existing connection for the trunk under the side cover.  B is the new connector I built to make it more convenient to disconnect.

This is on a 1999 Interstate.

Maybe it will help.

My first time so if the image doesn't show I will keep working on it.

Cheers
