 cooldude  That was great!

I had a major Prine listening session the other day,  was alternating between giggling like a goofball and bawling like a little girl.  It was all good!

Very well-written and performed tribute, even including other singers in there. Thanks for posting that Mark. It does go to show how much impact he has had all these years, by the amount of younger singer/songwriters and even other, more "well known" performers of his own generation that have been affected by him...both positively and now negatively with his passing. Just speaks to his talent, individuality, and personality...have never heard anything other than positive opinions on John Prine over the decades. I have a John Prine songbook containing sheet music I've purchased or downloaded in order to learn to play his songs over the years...all the pages are dog-eared, coffee stained, etc from all the use. Never have progressed much further from being a very amateur guitar player and singer over the years, but I never do get tired of playing all those songs Smiley

My stepson Brad that passed last Dec. 1 should have plenty of company now. He was a big Prine fan and played a lot of his stuff on his guitar and we would sometimes sing along. I miss them both...Prine & Brad,  that particular stepson was my favorite of the three. We were still able to talk after their mother passed last May, sadly he was the only one of the three I trusted.

Like I've indicated in past posts, I'm a very average guitar player and singer, but that hasn't stopped me from playing and singing...and enjoying the songs of my absolute favorite songwriter and performer all these years. Never get tired of playing them...hopefully I keep gettin' better at it Smiley
