yah pissing me off as well most of the places I like to fish are state park boat landings all I will do is walk and BARELY touch the dock is all how will I infect anyone or get infected unless the boat ramp floating dock is contaminated by briefly touching it I guess?

I might go floating the canoe parking on tin can road nearby and paddle the sugar river I guess for something to do, but really no good fishing unless you like carp or the occassional small catfish or baby smallmouth/largemouth bass in there.

we really wanted the next 6 weeks off and on from work to explore a few state parks especially one about 1 1/2 hours away that has a lake connecting to the WI river, have not been to in long long while just to get out of the house but the dummy governor of WI closed all state parks.  The other lake I like to go to is now considered a state park boat landing area so that am sure is closed as well.  I get the 20 dollar yearly annual car sticker to avoid the rip off 7 to 8 dollar boat ramp fee per da (use to be long ago 2 bucks can deal with that but NOT Cool, maybe since not used I can get that money back from the state of WI ?

I've said it before and I'll say it again..."If sense is so common, why is there so little of it?"

I hadn't heard that UV light would kill it. I can see several ways that could be used depending on the needed strength of the UV.

If I had to survive on the fish I catch I’d be in real trouble (even in Minnesota).

UV robots.  There are several companies that manufacture them, many are sold to hospitals.

The bit about UV lights is sort of buried in the story and it says no one knows for sure but....

Wink  It would probably be best to avoid the term, kill, referencing viruses.  The scientific world is still unsure as to whether to classify a virus as living.  The things we do, perhaps including UV light, destroy the virus's protective layer thus inactivating the ability to infect a living cell.

We tend to personify almost everything in an attempt to understand what goes on in life.  Thus we talk about the intent of the virus, the cleverness of the virus or the war against the hordes of virus.  None of that really applies.  The virus is a poison against which we need to protect ourselves.

Here's a thought.  The experts claim the virus does not do well in hot, wet environments.  Thus the hope that the viral progression will decline with summer.  We Americans, though, use air conditioning to keep our homes and businesses cool and dry, an ideal place for the virus to thrive.  Why have none of the experts mentioned this?

Can you imagine the outcry if we were told that we could not us A/C for fear of spreading the virus????

My family moved from a two story house in Saluda, SC to Myrtle Beach, SC in the mid 50's.  The house had heating, an oil furnace, but no A/C.  There was a large fan in the attic that was used to pull in the cooler evening air from outside during the nights.

We finally got one of the first heat pumps some in the early 60's,  I don't really remember the actual year  but it was a big deal to get a heat pump.  We had cool air.

But your comments are well made.  If heat and humidity kills the virus, then a national mandate should be issued that air conditioning shall be prohibited until a vaccine for Corona-19 has been developed and is available to all.  If not why not.  How is that different than requiring social distancing and masks in public places.
