We were riding up I-77 yesterday doing a little scenic riding to nowhere and my wife leans up close and whispers in my helmet, "I hear that's not a party town," as she pointed at the exit for Bland, VA.

How about Hooker, Oklahoma "Home of the Horny Toads"! And the mascot for the High School really is the Horny Toads! I laugh everytime I go through there and see the Hooker Baptist church, the Hooker 4-H club and the Hooker Elementary and Hooker High School! LOL!

Hey Redvalk or rickv or Winghot, isn't there a Bugtussle, AL? I remember years ago, there was a steak place in Bugtussle that would give you your meal free if you could eat the whole 72 oz steak, bake potato and something... Anyway, that was the highlight of the audit week when I was in Alabama doing some audit work for Goldkist. Can't you just visualize two bugs "tussling" over some crumbs... maybe it is just me.

Living in a town named Pea Ridge - I'm always glad to hear odd town names! There's a little town in Oklahoma named Bow Legs and then not far away you will find Maud. Dad told me when I was a kid that you have to go through Bow Legs to get to Maud. His geography lesson stuck with me. Flippin, Arkansas is another good one. Al

There is a Bug Tussle AL. I worked with a girl who grew up in Bug Tussle. Also, the steak house is still there. The original burned to the ground. The owners had no insurance, but they have rebuilt a very small replacement. If you remember, the original was like a maze where all the additions had been added on. I am sure it will grow back to a larger size with time. Last time I ate there, it was still good.

Thanks SlowRoad. I guess I'll have to find my way over there one day. Sorry to hear it burned. Did they get some insurance this time? Hey, maybe a ride to dinner Friday night from Cheaha . Guess I better get the map out. I'm smelling a roadtrip!

Well, Yahoo maps has a Bug Tussle in OK and TX, but not Alabama... Further research required! Wasn't it near Coleman, Al?

I feel like I am talking to myslef. Wikepedia has it as: Bug Tussle is a small community in rural Cullman County, Alabama. It is located near the Cullman County and Walker County border. It is situated near Bremen, Alabama and the Lewis Smith Lake, along Alabama Highway 69 and Alabama State Route 91, and is southwest of the city of Cullman. That should be enough to find it.

Taintesville, FL. Laugh every time I drive through. It's about 300 yards wide, and 2 or 3 houses. I don't even know if it's on a map.
