On CBS Sunday Morning News today, there was a story that both Apple and Google were cooperating to create the framework for states / public health agencies to create a contact tracing application using your bluetooth phone. The way they were expressing this was that if you opted in, your phone would send and receive anonomized tokens from other opted in users. You would also have an option to say you had tested positive, which they public health agencies would then use to notify other users that they had been in contact with a confirmed C19 person. Your phone would be keeping this data on a rolling 14 day period.

Personal opinion - for the current outbreak - a bit of closing the barn door after the horses have left. But this could be useful for later outbreaks.

Didn't vote.  No cell phone.  Not sitting still for a chip in my head.

They can put a chip in my squirrels, just to keep them busy.
