This was a crazy one.

https://www.nbcnews.com/news/world/18-confirmed-killed-canada-s-deadliest-mass-shooting-officials-expect-n1188471

Started off with 16 + the shooter dead Sun morning. Today changed to 22 (and I expect the shooter too). They've choosen not to identify the shooter.

Supposedly the community was only about 200 people. One of these someones where everyone knows everyone.

Prayers to them all!  :'(

Gabriel Wortman.
Yes it is a sad situation and I saw a vid of your PM. Stating they were going after more guns. As if your country doesn’t already have some of the strictest to even buy a gun. And guess what the laws make ZERO  difference.

I was very sorry to read about this.

It seems our US nutjobs have taken a break from this behavior for awhile.  Hopefully they all died of the virus, but probably not.

The cowards, who nearly always choose innocent, unarmed, helpless people to shoot up, are no doubt askaird of the virus.

They've chosen not to identify the shooter.

The idea was to NOT give the perp, in death, what he could not get in life --- notoriety.

Maybe that was just in Canada. But here, right away we were told his name and how he tried to appear as a Mountie.

Yeah-PRAYERS up for All the Families affected by this senseless slaughter. And I noticed your king/dictator now wants stronger gun laws. Obviously the ones already on the books don't work so make more laws. See Chicago Il. for gun laws that don't work along with many others here in the lower 48. While to some this may sound a bit trite but I believe this-when guns are outlawed only outlaws will have guns. I also realize guns are NOT for everyone much like Motorcycles are NOT for everyone. I'd much rather be able to protect myself in the moment.
I'd also like to Know WHY those perps of mass murder usually commit suicide. I won't even approach conjecture on this subject. Again-PRAYERS from the Missouri Ozarks. RIDE SAFE.

They are also not releasing the type(s) of firearms used (or whether they were lawfully owned).

But young Justin is ready to outlaw all so called assault weapons anyway.  (as sure as the sun comes up in the morning.... and bears defecate in the woods)

Terrible tragedy, must be devastating for the families.

I got ask: I thought gun law in Canada was even worst than California? I guess it shows that evil people will break the law to get firearms?

The scumbag didn’t have a PAL (Possession and Acquisition Licence), which is our licensing system that requires all gun owners to take a course, have a criminal record check, reference check, etc. So he was breaking our existing gun laws, which didn’t stop him. I’m sure the next law will.  Roll Eyes

Sorry to read this and sad for all who died by the hands of this deranged person

Unfortunately no amount of gun laws will stop criminals from killing people,
but the death of criminals stops their recidivism

A well armed society is nothing to be scared of.

Justin is a Liberal. They have been removing our firearm rights since I was a kid. I ran a BBS in the 90' trying to stop that round. That went from a expected cost of $2M and a "we'll stop registering long arms when we get to $25M", to being stopped by the Progressive Conservatives at $2B (10 years later?).

Justin has brought this up before (last year?), removing all these scary black guns, before this shooting. Nothing new from him/Them.

As for the shooter, I did hear his name on the local radio. He was banned from owning firearms/explosives/more since 03' (?) due to violence conviction. He WAS NOT licensed to own them. So they where illegal firearms. Still no word on the type that I've heard.

It's all a tragedy, a sad loss of innocent life, and politicians will never let a tragedy go to waste and will make the best they can of it for their own purposes. Unfortunately, the lambs will follow the herder.

For us lawful firearms owners, it's always better when people use firearms criminally that they were not lawfully entitled to possess.  IE, there were already laws in place which criminalized his possession of firearms (before he used them criminally).

But that never stops them from punishing us lawful firearms owners.... you know, the ones that obey the firearms laws all the time.  So far...

And how does that really make a difference?  Don't we have laws against murder?  Anyone who murders is disobeying the law.  So do some believe that one who has decided to murder would change his plans to avoid breaking some other law?    crazy2

It never ceases to amaze me the stupidity that is applied to many people's alleged thinking.   Roll Eyes

Yeah I read that.

Some day, politicians will figure out all the laws in the world won't stop lunatics from doing lunacy.

Now there are some more wrinkles in this. Multiple firearms he had. From hand guns to long arms. Reportedly some from Canada, and some from the US.

Since all handguns have been registered in Canada since 1934 (?), which ones did he get from where, and how? They will never know. He also burned his house down. They also don't want the answer. As the real answer is, it won't make a differance.

We all know it's said if there weren't any firearms, then people couldn't kill themselves or others. But we know that's not true, they just find a different tool. Like the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toronto_van_attack Apr 23/18 .
