Baker air wings, any tips?

I ride without a windshield because I'm not going that far and I don't like the looks of windshields. Problem is my wife was thinking we should ride down to Orlando to visit some friends whenever we can. That's 364 miles door to door almost all of it on Interstate highway.
I tried out the windshield that came with the bike and the wind buffeting was terrible at 65-70 MPH. Made my eyes bounce and I can't do that for any amount of time. Wind shield is at about my chin level. I played with the angle but aligned with the forks was the best which wasn't good.
Going to try out the air wings later today. They are adjustable, any tips on what works the best? I'm 6ft 185 BTW, I know the answer to this maybe, I just have to fool around with them.
My other thought would be to cut the windshield down and an inch or two. I wear a full face helmet so I don't really care about my head getting hit with wind but for a long trip I can't go 70+ MPH getting hit in the chest 360 miles.

I love my air wings. You get lowers and uppers, both can be tilted to block wind or to focus wind on the engine area on really hot days. I guess it helps with cooling the engine. I leave the tops in the block position at all times and they really help with buffeting. I have an aftermarket fairing and do have some buffeting coming in under the fairing that hits me in the chin area. I don't notice in warm weather, but sure do when it's cold. My new Schuberth helmet has a chin curtain that has cured this problem.

I liked mine when I had them on my Tourer. Swapped the radiator and tipover guards for those from an I/S and when I put a set of pods on the bike, no more Air Wings.
Can't run the ones that are meant for an I/S, either - my Bat Wing's lowers would interfere. When I had my first I/S I had a set of Air Wings on the pods and they worked really well at managing airflow.
Definitely a recommended accessory.

After an hour of playing with the air wings, they do make a big difference. Almost totally stopped the head buffeting at 70 or so. I did notice when I was playing around with them that you can change the heat coming off the radiator and where that goes. For those of you ride with a shield all the time these air wings could be very useful to control how much heat you get on your legs.
Wife noticed the air flow was different for her on the back but really no better or worse for her.
Well looks like I'll be set for a long ride if want to go.
