Now they say there are a couple ways a President doesn't win reelection. Those are an unpopular war or a poor economy.
But there is something larger going on here driving this sudden outbreak right after Trump beats an impeachment. Especially the fact that it (Corona Virus) originated in China who we are in a global trade war with; brought on by Trump. Let's not forget Biden's back door deals with CHINA as well.
China doesn't want 4 more years of Trump either. It all seems rather convenient for the nations and opponents of our current President and economy 5 months before an election. Couldn't have hit at a more perfect time.
With the Democrats running out of campaign talking points, in light of no school shootings, no migrant caravans at the southern border, fighting in Syria winding down, North Korea not firing missiles and Trump beating a sham impeachment. The Corona Virus gave them one last hail Mary to try and point fingers at Trump with the clock winding down in 2020.
This is almost the perfect fascist playbook. Control the population with fear-mongering and panic, control the media, spread propaganda and the fan-favorite disarm the population. Oh, and did anyone notice that while they are mad as hell at Trump for not sending aid to Ukraine, they THEMSELVES voted AGAINST giving ANY emergency aid to all Americans ?
Sorry but I don't think we are all going to die. Remember when Ebola was what was going to kill us all, and the media kept showing the piles of body bags that were prepared for the fallout. Then a month later it was totally forgotten.
The common flu has killed more people this year already and the media is SILENT!

If the Democrats were truly interested in the well being of America, they would have put aside politics and the blame game for at least a few months. They would have put their shoulder to the task at hand, saving as many lives as possible with the least negative impact on the healthy. Trying to use pandemic legislation to push through their partisan agenda is sickening. I hope all of America is watching closely.

The problem we have is, Speaker Pelosi and Senator Schumer along with the rest of the Democratic leadership will do anything to push their "socialist" agenda and buy votes.   I don't have a very positive view of politicians anyway but, we'd all be better off is the two mentioned above were replaced.

I don't honestly believe the Chinese released a worldwide virus to get back at President Trump.  I do believe strongly that certain political and cultural change proponents have used and exaggerated the situation to their own advantage.

The left leaning media and the liberal community have certainly done all they can to fan the flames of panic.  A crisis in the year of a presidential election is a negative to the incumbent and a positive for the challenger.  COVID-19 was an expected sudden threat.  It should have been defined as another virus somewhat more intense and more lethal than the recurring annual flu.  Models used by the "experts" have repeatedly shown themselves to be over predicting cases and deaths.  we need to protect ourselves.  Measures include washing our hands; reducing the practice of touching our mouths, noses and eyes; being very aware of our contacts; and possibly avoiding large crowded events.  Shutting down schools and some businesses was probably a good decision.  Shutting America down with "stay at home" orders was overreacting. Damage to the U.S. economy was much more than was needed.

I'm troubled that they have settled on Coronavirus to define the epidemic.  Coronavirus is the name of a group of viruses because their appearance resembles the crowning of the sun.  Coronavirus causes many diseases in humans, most commonly many of our colds. COVID-19 is caused by a novel coroavirus called novel because it is different than most.

It bothers me to hear people play the race card with COVID-19.  Much has been made about how in NYC the occurrence among Latin and African Americans is higher than among European blood Americans.  Yes, but it's because of their financial and cultural environments, not because the disease in any way prefers darker skinned targets.

Social distancing was originally proposed in order to "flatten the curve" and thus possibly reduce the chances of hospitals to be overwhelmed.  Somewhere along the way social distancing began to be promoted to "save lives".  Flattening the curve does not save lives.  Unless a vaccine is miraculously released or an instant cure is discovered social distancing will not save lives.  The number of people who are going to catch or die from the virus will catch or die from the virus.  Flattening the curve will simply stretch the experiences over a longer period of time.

Oh, one more thought to be added.  One does not normally contract the disease when one comes into contact with an infected person.  Normally one contracts the disease when one has acquired the virus on his hands and touches one of the gateways to his body with that defiled hand.  Of course that process may be shortened by a person's french kissing someone suffering from the viral infection.

I hope the country at large is reopened soon.  It very well may result in an uptick of COVID-19 cases.  We do still need to do the things we should to protect ourselves but we don't need to completely rebuild our culture for this disease.  

Those are a few of my thoughts regarding the COVID-19 and its utilization by certain portions of our cultures.

Tired of hearing we need a vaccine and some in the gov says we can have one in 12-18 months. Bullshit a vaccine on average takes 20 yrs after developing and testing. The shortest time from inception to an actual vaccine in modern times was for the mumps and it took 4 years.

Very good and thoughtful post. I agree with pretty much every word of it. As it relates to China I don't go with the conspiracy stuff. China has a government and like all governments it is rife with  bureaucracy. I'll bet the bureaucrats in China are lying to themselves about this.

The media has driven the hysteria to heights of madness I have never seen.

We know there are treatments out there that have had great success. The political environment has smashed the efforts by this administration to actively pursue them.

We could go down this path of humor, but it is a bad path of dark and foreboding humor. The kind which I thoroughly enjoy but is destined to offend to the maximum extent possible many folks.

So as discretion is the better part of valor we shall be valiant and honorable.
