My girl's oldest (previous marriage, he passed) is an avid gun collector and is totally pissed about the gun control garbage.
He's already jumped through all the hoops required to own guns in this country, and is now likely to have to surrender his valid, registered semi-auto.

I've not had a use for a gun so far in life, but now I live out in the country where bigger critters are,
and I'd like to be able to defend against a rabid animal if necessary. Might become near impossible now.

Ask Robert Kennedy what a 22 short can do . Oh wait you can't he's dead.  Not defending this gun grabbing BS by any means. The pea shooter  comment made me post.

I understand, Joe.  I have several pea shooters, a 9mm carbine included.  That's why I'm a bit -- concerned.   Sad  We know our current POTUS doesn't want to take 'em.  Think I'll keep voting accordingly.

Also have some 22s and .380s.  Ya, I wouldn't want to take a shot from any of 'em!

Hey my bug out arm is a .22 rifle, Why you ask? Because it will kill most anything with the correct shot placement and you can carry 10k rounds in a simple back pack.  6-25 round magazines and you can stave off an attack for quite a while.

Thanks for the Trudeau government, Ontario and Quebec.
UN 21 and 2030 agendas.

Goal 11) Make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable

Translation: Ban all gun ownership by private citizens, concentrating guns into the hands of obedient government enforcers who rule over an unarmed, enslaved class of impoverished workers. Criminalize living in most rural areas by instituting Hunger Games-style "protected areas" which the government will claim are owned by "the People" even though no people are allowed to live there. Force all humans into densely packed, tightly controlled cities where they are under 24/7 surveillance and subject to easy manipulation by government.

In 1812 the United States failed to absorb Canada because we lacked the necessary firepower being surprised at the level of resistance to our north.  Perhaps they now have regretted that failure and are positioning for a retry.   Wink

And this is one of the prime reasons we must do everything we can to stop anyone with a (D) after their name from being elected to any office anywhere.

(Not saying all the (R)'s are great, but they suck slightly less at least.)

Either take us or take Vancouver and Southern Ontario. Either way I’m happy. We’ll throw in Quebec for free. If that’s not good enough, we’ll pay you to take them.

None of our states are either 100% conservative nor 100% liberal.  Be careful what you wish for.  In a few short years with the direction of Austin and the cities of the Republic Texas is scheduled to become the next California.

You're right, that map is looking very strange.

As for the issue of the original post, people here are complaining "how can they do that"? Well they forget what started all these problems back in the 90's with the Liberals then. They created the ability to create "orders in council", which at the whim of the Justice Minister (or his boss) laws can be changed.

This is how the Conservatives/Progressive Conservative got into power, firearm owners pissed. They then dismantled the Long Arm registry (except for Quebec). But they failed to reverse the change of order in council.

Then the Liberals got back in power and started right up again where they left off with gun control. They spent $2B on a registry that was to have cost no more than $1M/yr, was to have been scrapped IF it ever reached $25M total cost. Now they have to do a buy back for legally owned firearms.

I kind of like the buy back better than the grandfather they did for prohibited firearms (you know, those evil ones that no one should have, but you can keep it till you die or sell only to another grandfathered person). Not that I like my $ going to the buy back in the first place.

We all know there is no real difference between one semi-auto and another, pull trigger, one shot, but only on how the overall firearm looks (wood/plastic) or how it does this mechanically.

"Government mandating sick people to stay home is called quarantine. However, the government mandating healthy citizens to stay home, forcing businesses and churches to close is called tyranny,"

If Tyranny and Oppression come to this land, it will be in the guise of fighting a foreign enemy.
James Madison
(in 2020 it is a scary sounding virus name from a foreign country)

I believe there are more instances of the abridgement of freedom of the people by gradual and silent encroachments by those in power than by violent and sudden usurpations.
James Madison
(how far will they go with the next so called scare?)

Tyranny is defined as that which is legal for the government but illegal for the citizenry.
Unknown

It is the religion of ignorance that tyranny begins.
Benjamin Franklin

We are right to take alarm at the first experiment upon our liberties.
James Madison
(shut down of the country and our Liberties and destroy millions of lives to save a very few the same already sickly that could die from the flu?)

The means of defense against foreign danger historically have become the instruments of tyranny at home.

I picked up some inexpensive plastic .223 ammo boxes, one I loaded up with inexpensive .22, just for the above reason. My rife and MkIII would last a long time for very little weight, and be able to either keep me alive in either situation of distress.

So it seems Trudeau and co were so eager to ban all the scary things, they included Black Rifle Company coffee in their forbidden list.....

https://twitter.com/blckriflecoffee/status/1258208851435929601/photo/1

It's been pointed out locally, the list was a cut-paste taken from the internet. There are items listed that have never (or not over the last 100 yrs) been able to be owned here. Also things like bazooka tubes, the TUBES! This could be a plastic pipe.

It really shows you the ignorance of the subjects of Canada. Their willingness to give up all their rights (we actually don't have any, read our charter). People don't see how this is a slippery slope.
