I'm looking for the Krud Kutter Parts Washer and so far here in the Green Bay area I've not found any. Went to a Tractor Supply in Appleton south of here and they didn't even know what I was talking about. It  appears I'm going to have to order it online which really bugs me cuz I wanted to start tearing into a carb rebuild. So, any suggestions for cleaners comparable to Krud Kutter Parts Washer? I've used nothing but it for years so don't really want to substitute.  Angry

Don't know how it would work in a parts washer, but this is some of the best cleaner that I have ever seen:

https://www.amazon.com/Totally-Awesome-Purpose-Concentrated-Cleaner/dp/B007P0TH0M

It's available at most Dollar Stores.

The terms "parts washer" is in bold letters on the label, doesn't harm all the plastic and rubber parts when I put it in my ultrasonic cleaner. Eats off the grease and crud without eating off your skin and is biodegradable.

For carb cleaning, a solution of Pine Sol in a Crock pot for 24 hrs. works really well.

Ross, Lowes seems to list about every Krud Kutter product but the one with the "parts washer" label. As for Home Depot, same thing in the local store. The Ms. Left Brain in the paint dept. where I was directed to argued with me that the list of Krud Kutter products she had on her shelf included everything the company makes. So just to make her day I pulled out my cell phone and showed her. Her reaction, if printed here, would probably burn a hole in the monitor so I just left empty handed. Even the Tractor Supply I stopped at on the way home didn't have it...or even knew what I was talking about. So....still looking I guess.  Lips Sealed

Again, I don't know how well it would work in an ultrasonic cleaner.

But I do know that the Awesome cleaner is a great degreaser and it doesn't harm rubber and plastic.

Thanks, I'll check it out. I just wanted to get away from the petroleum based cleaners. Even the Purple Power stuff, though a good cleaner & biodegradable, will mess up the skin on your hands. I need my hide to last a few more years.  Wink

I get it on my hands all the time.

It can be an irritant if the exposure is long term but it doesn't eat skin.

Here's an SDS for it:

Also what he told me...Krud Kutter. I'm just blown away by being unable to find it anywhere so far in a metropolitan city and surrounding area the size of Green Bay. Unreal!

Try Lowes or Home Depot.
I've checked both and Lowes seems to carry everything under the sun with the Krud Kutter name but not the parts cleaner version....at least not around here. I've found the local Home Depot is pretty much the same.

Avanti, you're 120 miles south of Appleton, did you go there in person? I was in that same store just this past Friday and scoured the place only to come out with zip. Two clerks didn't even know what I was talking about, older and supposedly more experienced men. They did have other Krud Kutter products and many respondents here have stated a particular store has it. Turned out a suggested store had everything BUT Krud Kutter Parts Washer. Even my daughter told me the local Home Depot had a bunch of it and told me the aisle number in the paint dept., only to find out again....everything BUT the Parts Washer version. I'll check again at the TSC store you mentioned and if they have it I'm only 20 min. away.  cooldude

UPDATE: I just called and after a long wait on the phone and giving the gal the SKU, they finally found it....but not on the sales floor. I could hear the gal doing the search fussing and cussing because she had to dig it out from under stuff in their storage area in back. I had talked to the manager Friday and he was as much help as a rubber crutch. She is setting aside 2 gals. for me and I'm driving down to get it this afternoon.

Called the store, gave them the SKU number and it took two minute for the gentlemen to walk to the self and tell me he had three on the self.

If I would of had an address I just might have delivered it.

I hear ya but that's not the story I got from the gal that dug them out. I went down and picked up two gals. and when I went through the ckout she had them sitting right there for me. She laughed and said loud enough for the guy at the next register to hear...."someone stuck them in with the welding supplies in back, right where you'd expect to find them"....all tongue in cheek. Turned out the guy was the manager, he turned around and apologized for my having to make another trip there, which wasn't a big deal actually. In the end I got what I needed so all's well that ends well.  cooldude

I've had good results with Simple Green in an ultrasonic.  Much better if you get it good and hot before you run the parts through it.
