I'm losing interest in riding more and more Steve....Just too many stupid people on the roads. We have taken an interest in riding in Laurel's Rubicon, with the soft top down. We will still do some lunch / dinner riding, just no more 800 mile days !!! My strength and stamina have taken a hit with the cancer meds, so I know my limits.

Yeah, like the Fort Kent ride and back to home in one day you did last summer. You maniac. I've never done an 800 mile day. Not sure I want to. I'd probably need a better seat than the stock one the GW. Most miles I've ridden in a day are probably just under 500. I would like to do the Fort Kent ride this summer starting from Bangor. But I would spend the night in Madawaska and travel back to Bangor the next day. We'll see what travel is like this summer. I'm hoping for the best.

Fort Kent has a brewery....I'd recommend staying the night in Presque Isle.

Guys, let's see how it goes. I'm thinking July or August. For non Mainers, it's at least a three night trip. Let's keep our fingers crossed.

Agreed. Hope we can make it happen. I haven't been up to "The County" since the early 2000s. Just don't remember which year.

I have been up there a couple of times on my bike....last year being the longest route up and back. Start on Rt 11 out of the Bangor area and stay on Rt 11 until Fort Kent....( no GPS needed !!! ) Then it's Rt 1 back to Ellsworth...( still no GPS needed !!! ) You could always decide to make the trip in the counterclockwise direction from Bangor.... Leave Bangor and take Rt 9 east to Calais....( hammer down baby !!! )...then Rt 1 north, and Rt 11 back to the Bangor area.

Not sure if we "need" a chaperone Karen, but we surely would appreciate one !!! You have May and June, and maybe July to draft our guidelines !!! Rots o Ruck
