Nope. We are such curious creatures… We want answers, we abhor uncertainty and unknowns, we like to know in advance what to expect… We fret and stew, plan and anticipate, over-think every detail we can conjure-up… and we wind-up in a funk worrying about all that might pop-up to spoil our carefully crafted vision of an outcome…
I suppose we do that, in part, because it is always such a relief when most of all that dire crap we imagine never materializes… In the process, though, we miss one of the potentially greatest joys that only spontaneity can provide!
I’ve spent the last couple of days moping around allowing myself to have a not-so-minor pity-party, because I could so easily come up with reasons not to go anywhere… Excuses for watching more reruns of Gunsmoke and The Virginian and not pursuing… my destiny. Well, enough already!!!
This day will not be spent wallowing in lethargy, nor worrying about the rapidly disappearing tread on our girl’s rear tire, the semi-annual Love-Bug irritation now underway, nor whatever else I routinely come up with to justify… the placement of my delicate fanny once again in that danged ol’ recliner… I’m going mobile!!!
Naturally, I have no specific target in mind, but… ummmm, there used to be a rather good BBQ place over in Palatka, so… we could go check that place out, I guess. That’s all it takes… a non-binding idea to focus upon as we depart the end of the driveway. No telling where we might end up, but who cares? That’s not really the point at all…
