Mid 80's. Mostly sunny. No rain for today.

Yup. Time to round up some kids and put 'em on bikes and go somewhere!

Let Blake decide, short ride or long.

"Riding on the motorcycle is fun so long please!"

Long it is (Long by the standards of an 8 year old's reasonable endurance in the saddle.)

Getting bikes ready, kids geared up and such...

Absolutely glorious riding weather!

Made it to our destination, a little mom and pop Tex Mex place near our land out in the country, little over an hour from home, in the thriving megapolis of Italy, TX... Wonderful place, check it out if you're in the area, La Hacienda Mexican Grill...

Yay! Chips and salsa!!

And food! Blake being Blake asked to go to a Mexican place, then ordered a pepperoni pizza... *Shrug*

My beef and cheese enchiladas were excellent...

Kali needed to put some gas in the Standard, so I tried to top off the Interstate while she was doing the needful, but I couldn't get it plugged in...

One of the greatest wonders of the modern technical age is the ability to take a selfie while riding a motorcycle at 90 miles an hour down the freeway...

So that's how I spent my Sunday afternoon... Hope ya'll are able to get out and enjoy a little life as well...... And as always remember: We are here for a good time, not a long time. So make the most of it!

Sure did.

And yes - I got out today too. What us Kansas Citians call the I435 Loop - I 435 goes around the majority of the metro area, so I got on at a convienent place for (I70W at I435S In KCK), then went around The whole thing (about 80-90 miles worth) - also a beautiful riding day (temps in the 60-70 F range - just perfect for a sweatshirt / Jean jacket combo up top)

Frijoles refritos.  A southwestern and Tex-Mex staple!  The good ones are a delicacy.

We've got a great Mexican restaurant here.  It looks a lot like the place in Serk's pictures, both food and ambience. It's still carry out only.  I may have to do that soon.

So many folks try to play up the "Big bad biker" image, being 5'19" and riding a 6 cylinder motorcycle, I ain't got nothing to prove, so I've got big floppy dog ears on my helmet.

It makes people smile, kids giggle and wave. And I figure a cop can't write me a ticket if he can't stop laughing....

As far as the refried beans go, take Lyle Lovett's advice, and try some PROPER refried beans..... just might change your mind.....

Yah,  makes kids smile get it.  I mostly ride with a Tazmania devil on my I/S chrome top rack bungee corded down and speeds greater than 50 mph the wind flaps the devils tongue up/down all the time.  If car behind me I can see the kids in cars behind me getting a kick out of the tongue flapping up/down.   I guess you are all right the very few times I have had refried beans and even the bland rice shown in your pic in Mexican restaurants up here feel not worth eating, must go down south I guess?  NO flavor of each one being the rice and mushy bean paste not good.   The main course looks yummy though.

Is your 17/18 year old daughter feeling comfortable enough to take the younger siblings on back for a ride or not yet needing to gain more trust in handling the big bike still?    I was a little worried for you when she tipped the Valk over at lower speeds in town, etc. first staring off, that would scare the heck outta me.

Proper refried beans are made with left over red beans and smashed up with bacon grease.

Refried beans taste fine, but they have all the eye appeal of loose diarrhea on your plate.

I eat em anyway.  Food is to eat, not look at.
