Thinking I might head down to AK and MO for some riding in the next few weeks. Any recommendations of roads not to miss? I don't have any real plan at this point, looking at the map it looks like Ozarks, Mark Twain and Ouachita are all relatively close together. I'm planning on a mix of back country (dispersed) camping and hotels.

Waterfalls or other good scenery not to miss?

125 from Sparta, Missouri to 14 (left turn) into Yellville, Arkansas.  Daytime only.  Ferry crossing the lake on the state line.

Mo. 14 from West Plains or U S 63 south into Arkansas. Stop at Mammoth Springs have a look see at the dam there. Further south at Raven Den there is a large raven statue there. Mo. 181 S of of mo. 14 gits interesting and when you get to where 181 turns right or H I believe goes straight Both and I repeat BOTH routes are interesting. You roll the Mo roads out there be Very aware of large and small 4 legged critters and slow moving pickups and farm equipment. The problem I deal with when photo ops appear genrally ain't no place to park Safely. As I recall more routes I'll post again. Good luck and look up M/C roads in both Missouri and Arkansas. Ther Are routes you Can drag pegs if so desired!  Roll Eyes RIDE SAFE.

I remember hearing that the Peal ferry had reduced hours of operation and amount of daily trips for the pandemic and that you were required to stay in/ on your vehicle. Willow do you know if that is still in effect?

Thanks to everyone for your suggestions. Looks like I'll need more time!

This may be one of the best resources I've seen for motorcycling. I want to make one of these for the black hills now!

Thanks everyone!

Some of the letter roads here bouts-MM or N or such like can have the paving end and turn to gravel. And Any of the letter roads can and do have low water crossings you really NEED to be aware of if there has been heavy rain a couple days before you are on that road. And in the last few weeks and days we have had heavy rain here in Southern Missouri. Turn around don't drown.
Mo. 95 out of Mountain Grove all the way til it ties back into U S 160. If you have enough fuel turn around and run Mo. 95 back North to Mountain Grove. Or run East on 160 to West Plains.
Let me know your plans and if I am able might could git in a ride with you. RIDE SAFE.

That's a good catch.  I haven't been on the Peel Ferry for about a year now.

The latest I found was from March 2020 and it said due to the COVID-19 concerns the times were limited to 06:00 -0900 and 15:00 - 18:00.  It said passengers had to remain in or on their vehicle and a state trooper would be on board.

watch out for pig guts in the road near Deer and in fact be aware that there may be slippery stuff all the time

I was maybe 50' behind a rider that went down, even after we walked the area it was tough to see

Changed my riding style forever

Pig trail was fun but not my favorite

Chasing Taz back when I thought I was immortal was fun experience
