and just wait until all of the mail in voting pelosi and blue states want to do.

https://crimeresearch.org/2020/05/philadelphia-election-judge-single-handedly-voted-so-many-times-that-he-accounted-for-as-much-as-22-of-votes-in-races/

Over three elections, an election judge in Philadelphia has pleaded guilty to standing in an election booth and voting as fast as he could over and over again. Domenick J. DeMuro faces up to 15 years in federal prison for this fraud. From the Philadelphia Inquirer:

A former judge of elections and Democratic committee person from South Philadelphia pleaded guilty to accepting $2,500 in bribes to inflate the vote totals for three Democratic candidates for Common Pleas Court judge between 2014 and 2016, U.S. Attorney William M. McSwain announced Thursday.

Domenick J. DeMuro, 73, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to deprive Philadelphia voters of their civil rights by fraudulently stuffing the ballot boxes for the candidates in the 2014, 2015, and 2016 primary elections, and violating the Travel Act, which forbids the use of a cell phone to promote illegal activity — bribery, McSwain’s office said. . . .

prosecutors said, they made up a significant percentage of the total votes cast at the polling place. In 2014, 118 total ballots were reported there, which means that DeMuro’s fraudulent votes accounted for over 22% of the total voting in that division in 2014. In 2015, his fraud accounted for over 15% of the votes in the division; in 2016, his fraud accounted for over 17% of the votes. . . .

Borrow the Singapore cane, and use it once for each illegal vote.... with enthusiasm.

And knock off a few weeks of the prison time.

The question is, did his illegal votes make a difference in the election outcome?   With percentages like that, I assume his favored candidates won?

Here in Oregon we have had mail voting only for many years.   You have to had registered to get a ballot in the mail.   On the outside of the mail in envelope you have to sign your signature.  If your signature is not the same as your registration, they will not count your vote till you come in and resign.   (My Mom, 5 years ago, signed it differently and got caught)  So yeah if handled  like Oregon, mail in voting will work.   But it has to be set up right.

Thankfully this year dear Governor decided that the mail in envelope would not require a stamp.   Wow  2funny

Who is picking up the ballots without a stamp?  The postman is required to leave the said mail in the box if no postage?  So is the state picking up the bill. Or going into mailboxes which would be a federal crime.

There HAS to be a strict deadline with mail-in ballots.  And it has to be a one piece thing.  Can't have a separate envelope that you have to keep track of for a postmark or something.  Florida is the most recent example of fraud when it comes to mail-ins.

A while back someone posted something that basically said that voting shouldn't be easy.  It's our most important right and it should be dealt with that way.  A voter should have some skin in the game, even if it's just registering one day and then physically going to the library, school, firehouse, etc, to cast ones ballot on another day.

I strongly believe that only tax payers should have the right to vote to begin with since they are truly the only ones with skin in the game.  How many Greta's and sophomoric college students who have never earned a dollar in their lives do we have to listen to tell us how our tax dollars should be spent?

Wasn't there a Science Fiction book where the world was fighting aliens and the only people who could vote were "tax payers" and solders?

I can't remember the name.  I can see the movie scenes but, can't remember the book.

And yes I read the book before it was made into a movie.

Speaking of Science Fiction Jack Vance had a good series in the 60's or 70's.  The Star King.  I still have the paperback somewhere, all of them in the series.

Bingo. I happen to think that is a good idea except - In Starship Troopers, the military (and other people in federal service in lieu of military) could not vote either - only those who had completed their term of Federal service could.

As I said, this year,  for the first time,  Ballots are not required to have a stamp attached to them.  One is not required to put a stamp on them.  Postage prepaid.   There is a deadline for mailing them in, X number of days before election day.   Though one can drop off ballots in drop boxes, ours is at the County Court House, anytime before end of election day.  It works.  Just got to be setup right.

Ballots are not required to have a stamp attached to them.  One is not required to put a stamp on them.

I've thought this through, and have concluded the reason for this change in the law is because dead people don't have the the required higher cost stamps on them.

They only have smaller stamps like 2 and 5 cent ones that the Post Office will no longer honor.

This is actually a thoughtful and pretty low cost courtesy for dead people, and we should all get behind it.

(I could be wrong)

Thats it!... Starship Troopers.  I liked the book better than the movie.

I did not remember they had to finish their terms of service before being able to vote but since they might well be 'off planet', that makes sense.

If they find fraud like this, the person the fraud was for should be removed from office, fined heavily and be found ineligible to ever hold office again. His nearest competitor then takes his position. Get the actual politicians involved to help fight voter fraud.
