has anyone ever removed some of the baffles on the OEMs to tweak the sound of the exhaust without going to 6 to 6 cobras

I chopped out the rear baffles on my pipes, and then put truck stacks over the front baffle. Certainly woke up the bark that is known to come out of these bikes.

My piggies were cut off from original owner and with stock tips they are very annoying @ highway speeds thus 60mph really sucked. Made 12.5" wide open slash cut tips, problem solved though I would like to had it stock form to do my own sound altercations.

On the home page, do a search for "ragnar cut"
You'll get about a hundred threads to check out.

I made an extension for a hole saw that went inside the exhaust tube. I drilled out one baffle at a time on all six. I started the bike up and checked the sound. I do not remember how many I cut out , but when I felt the sound was right , I put on truck stacks with 45 degree turn outs. On a highway with concrete barriers , I get a drone. I think straight pipes would have been better. I like the sound and it is not obnoxious.
