New to the forum
I know the std has a 5.1 gal fuel cap. and the interstate has 6.1 gal.  How much does the tourer have?

Standard and Tourer share the same fuel tank. The I/S is larger and has an electric fuel level sending unit but will bolt right on to standard or tourer model

Well, the I/S does and it is connected to a nice little LCD just to the right of the digital clock .... and when you get to reserve it blinks. Of course the gauge thinks you are on reserve long before you need to turn the petcock to reserve.

Tell me a little about the belly tank that you added. How much does it hold. Where can you get one?

Thanks

Check Ebay, I saw a few on there the other day.

Sure way to tell the difference between various Valk tanks is to look at or get pictures of the bottom of the tank.  The Interstate tank has a flange for the sender unit to bolt up to in addition to the spot for the petcock, the standard or Tourer tanks (same tanks) only have the petcock.

The mount ups for both tanks are the same - some have problems with interference between the front nose of the seat and the rear of the tank.

If you search the archives there are some suggestions for gauges that will work with the stock sender - Motosens make one and others have used another gauge but I can't recall the brand right now.

Let me know if you want a pic of the sender flange and I can get you one.

Go to the homepage and scroll down on the left side to the Vendors section, go in there and see R&M Works - they do the tanks and other mods to get them up and running..

I put the fast black interstate tank on my Tourer.   I can now go about 170 miles before I hit reserve.
