I have done a little background on a few of the city counsel members of Minnesota. To see why this is happening in a city that would remove the police and see if there was tension there. I would say that Minnesota makes San Francisco look pretty mild in terms of the people who run the city and what they stand for.

I will only say that tradition in the US about being white, a bit older good stable family life to be a politician in the US is being put on its head in Minnesota. As we look into the values of the people that are in governmental positions we see rather than adherence to those values we see a radical change.

What it sounds like what they really need to do is go through the current leadership (replace where needed), and policies / SOP / training, and maybe add some more stringent oversight. If they said...Police shouldn’t be responding to mental health issues, homeless people issues and the like, I can agree with that. Heck, the police would probably support that too.  If they said we need to weed out the bad cops, everyone, including the police can agree on that too.

That’s what SOME are asking for. Sure, let’s have that conversation. Without the looting, rioting and destruction. Whenever the word "DEFUND" is used, it means to starve of money until it becomes inactive, broke, unable to function.
