Anyone carry something equivalent keep you safer when stopped by the side of the road at night?

Not that I have it, but I would think those fold able triangle reflectors that truckers use. I'm sure a truck stop would have them.

I remember reading about GWRRA having reflective signs, plastic roll ups, made in Alberta I think, one side saying "accident" and the other saying "caution". They had suction cups on them, so you could mount them on your windshield, something all GW had.

I had even gone as far as contacting the creator to see about making more. I forget the outcome, but think it was a matter of coming up with $1000 to run a batch off. I don't recall if I posted about them, or told the modulators here (something I doubt I did) about them. It would have come out cheap (maybe $5-10 ea?) and something that could be sold for a little profit to members.

I googled "road flares"... you can still get them a lot of places,
Home Depot, Advance Auto, Walmart...

I don't recall if I posted about them, or told the modulators here

Was that on purpose? Because I might start calling them that  Wink ...

I don't want to work on bike in the side of the road. To hot. Heck I don't want to work on it at home in an air conditioned garage anymore. Serious pre flight before each ride and keep in top maintained condition. It's worked well for me. I've been towed several times from remote locations. I'm very happy to pay that towing insurance, money very well spent.

Do not go to remote or your phone will not get you towing.

This has been an interesting thread.  Motorcyclists typically prepare for a trip better than other motorists.  Many people think nothing of jumping in their car or truck and driving a thousand miles, but riders take such a trip more seriously.

Motorcycle manufacturers must realize this.  Until recently tool kits were included with all bikes, even though they had become every bit as reliable as cars and trucks.  The kit that came with my old BMW (below) was especially complete.  There's also redundancy, like petcocks with a reserve position that remained on bikes long after fuel gauges became common.  In the '70s many bikes came with both and electric and kick starters.

There's a general perception that motorcyclists take on a lot of risk, but if you look at the way we prepare and the protective gear we wear, that's not the case at all.

Ok, Mike.  I did a search myself.  Bring a flasher along so people will notice when you are stopped by the side of the road?  I would not say it that way myself.
