This looks like it might be a nice place to visit. Like a casino, somewhere you might even hit the jackpot at.

When I was a kid in the cadets, one of our leaders was going to take us out camping over the summer, to where we could dry gold pan. The thought was to have fun, but to come back with fund that would allow us to operate for the year with a little more money.

So I've always wanted to try it. Watch youtube video on panning, and some how too.

Wishful thinking.

I don't know if you could get anything found, cut. The consortium pretty much has everything bottled up.

Never been but have often thought about it.  I have seen several you tube videos and it looks like unless you are very lucky you have to go through a lot of product and know what you are looking for in order to find one.

I've been told "they" seed the area.   Don't know if it's true or not but, I've been on too many Snipe Hunts to be interested.  Wink

been there a few times--go when it is cool--the summers there are hot and muggy as can be --it's a bit of work to dig up some dirt and lug it aways to the station to clean/hand rock large mesh screens to wash all the dirt looking for diamonds..a few years back several $10-30k diamonds were found as I recall

Been twice     saw people find a few but we have never found anything       its a nice set up with cleaning and dirt sifting tables     you can rent all equipment on site reasonably      my wife loves to go but all she does is do the sifting and looking     .......me have to take a wagon out and shovel 5 gallons of buckets to take to her     one good thing is there is a water park next door.     Took the gkids last time and after a couple hrs shoveling and sifting they were ready to go to the water park.....me too.     One family there found a 2 karat diamond while we were there.      Go to their website and they give about a yrs worth of finds and who and where they were from     overall we had a good time and the wife wants to go back this fall.     Not a middle of the summer place far as I'm concerned
