Thanks for the blast from the past IT was slow but worth watching
I am old enough to remember being taken to a game where Maris and Mantle hit home runs and
the Yanks beat the Tigers with Al Kaline also hitting at least one out. We always had Upper deck seats when we went to a game, good for a sunburn by end of day.
Whitey Ford (Hope that could be a non-racist name today?) pitched for the win
It might have been bobblehead day as I think dad bought me a Maris bobblehead
Al Kaline was an amazing player Too bad he wasnt a Yankee

It was slow paced, but probably to fit a 30 minute TV slot. After I settled in around the 2nd inning it wasn’t too bad. Definitely not the fast paced show they put on today that’s for sure. I kept waiting for the house with the striped awnings behind the left field wall to get hit.
I’m missing watching the games this year, not just for the games themselves but because my youngest daughter (20) has become quite the baseball fanatic and we’d sit together for a few innings and talk (not just baseball) and watch the Bronx Bombers play. We’d talk about who’s playing well, who’s not, watch different highlights, talk about school, her job, the family, where she’s heading in life and especially WHEN CAN WE GO BACK TO YANKEE STADIUM. She loved checking the schedule and trying to plan a family outing.
