Say What You mean Mean What You Say

Rockyview County, Alberta 2001 Interstate

Jason Stephan, Alberta MLA for Red Deer-South, said this about the Canadian Government.

“Canada is marching to bankruptcy, taking Alberta down with it. Canada is rudderless, under the control of individuals out of their depth. The socialist Trudeau, NDP, and Bloc parties undermine our ability to compete and succeed in the real world,” Stephan is quoted as saying in the Alberta Hansard transcript.

“Alberta is in a rigged partnership with so-called partners who strangle and suffocate the contributions of their most successful partners, Alberta businesses and families,” Stephan said.

Stephan named only Quebec and Ottawa specifically.

“In the real world a partnership agreement providing structural welfare payments to hostile, parasitic partners would never survive. That is equalization” he added.

The Red Deer MLA said Alberta has contributed more than $600 billion to Canada’s equalization program while Quebec takes more than $476 billion from it.

“In the real world Quebec would be kicked out of the partnership,” Stephan said.

FFS!!...$600 Billion!!...Thats $135,000 taken from every man woman and child in Alberta!! BTW...For my Wife and I + 2 sons, their wives and 5 grand children that's  $1,450,000!!! That ain't equalization, that's Theft by mob rule.

Apparently, I don't get out enough but, I have to ask, what's an MLA?

Premier-Provincial
Prime Minister-Federal
Governor General-Representative of the Reigning Monarch of England...a pointless figurehead...total waste of money with no real authority.

He’s not wrong.

This next election...and don’t kid yourself, Trudeau will call one soon... will be the last chance for Canada to survive in its current form.

I feel like the abused spouse who keeps saying...he/she is gonna change. One more chance.

I keep bringing this up...
The American Electoral College prevents the total domination of less populated States by California and New York...fight tooth and nail to keep it that way.

Yep, democrats, liberals, progressives [ take your pick] are trying like heck to do away with it. I still don't know if they know why we have it in the first place. I haven't been able to have a decent conversation with any of the above 3 about it. They just 'know' it needs to be eliminated and that the popular vote has to be used.

Yeah, a lot of that going around. Our enlightened Liberal leader vowed to get rid of our system...until the last election where he got less votes than the conservatives but still won. Then he said it wasn’t a priority.

Our dear leader  uglystupid2 has decided to remove what "he" considers military style weapons from the hands of Canadians with no consultation with the Citizens or the Provinces.

The Alberta Government is about to define said weapons as Private Property owned by those who purchased them. Firearms are under the rule of the Federal authority. Property falls under Provincial Authority. I am certainly not sure what lies ahead but Alberta is at least headed in the right direction by exercising it's authority over which level of government defines property rights in this matter.

All tyrannical governments begin by centralizing authority and the first step is to remove guns and property rights. Alberta means to block Trudeau on this by reminding him who has ultimate authority over property rights...we'll see how this goes soon enough.

A very significant number of Albertans have had enough of the "tyrants".

I always kinda figured that if you own it then its your property. Doesn't seem to always work that way though does it.
