Spent last week up air in God's country. My Brother in law has a place in Nebo east of Asheville, he has his 650 Burgman there to ride the mountains. As well as riding we spent one day at the gun range and another at the R/C flying field, View from Nebo towards Mt. Mitchell Liz and Jeffrey stayed in the driveway or outside the lines at a possibly new land owners place in Sylva and the view from there. One night stay in Bryson City another in Fines Creek and the money shot from atop Mt. Mitchell Sure was nice to get some mountain air.

Majestic views from the front porch Beautiful country, always hard for us to return to the flat land. Where is the Bryson City shot? Personal residence? Peaceful breathtaking view!!!

Doug that is Big Mike's place a favorite spot for those of us that get up that way. The driveway up is challenging the first time but gets easier with practice.

I had flown R/C most of my childhood, then again in my early 30's had been 20 years since last flight but I took to it like it was yesterday. My BIL started flying about a year ago and after seeing what I could do on his laptop simulator he had no problem letting me take over, a few touch and goes, barrel rolls and loops I was training him. We flew a small electric Beechcraft and a 40 size trainer. If I get back into it I want a large scale Bipe with a gas motor that will pull itself vertically till you can't see it anymore. I had a blast.

I have had everything from trainers to stunt planes to steam powered remote control Cars and tugs to sail boats plus trucks I still have my squadron hanging up in the garage with all the engines in my laundry room the best plane I had was a Futaba RTF it was a fully symmetrical high wing and it would do whatever I asked it to do I currently have four airplanes still in boxes and one F-16 jet which is actually Set up as a pusher But could adapt to a ducted fan. I’ve had 2 float planes made from trainers, a 40 size and a 60 engine too I had a tug boat with a steam engine in it and put in a remote control, what a blast that was. The sail boat I had, had a 6’ high mast and twin sails. I used to chase the ducts at the Local ponds. I now fly a drone, a Mavic gold pro. The furthest I’ve flown it was 3.75 miles from home. Great to hear someone else has the RC bug Sorry to To change the subject.

Has been a few years since I have flown as well but I still mess around with the simulator once in while. I have tons of planes. Up to around 96" wingspan. Even have a new biplane ARF that has yet to be put together. I do need to part with most of my stuff and just keep a couple planes. I used to pylon race for a while. Fun but expensive as planes were pretty much expendable at least in the eyes of competitors. Probably have the better part of 50 or more engines. Couple of huge boxes of hardwood and balsa pieces, tons of fasteners, servos, harnesses, etc. We also used to race trainers. Limited the engines to .46. Back then I had my own radar gun. Fastest one I had ran 112mph in a shallow decent for the radar gun pass. Not bad for a trainer.

The old dump in Flagler is an airstrip for rc’s. I’ll go early on a weekend morning and watch. I had a helicopter for a while, small ones were fun, never got good enough to do more than hover around a 20’ area with the big boy. To scared of crashing. LOL. Still play around with them on occasion but my truck is much easier. Can run that at home. I meant to ask you about this Sunday and forgot.
