Cry  I got past liking snow a long time ago.
I saw the same forecast on the weather channel. Flipped to Charlotte and they're sayin' 6 to 8 inches in the mtns. We'll see who wins.  Smiley Carolyn is working in Burnsville tomorrow. Has to ride with the Dr. She says he scares the he?? out of 'em when the roads are dry.  Cheesy
What about Knoxville ?

They are putting the " nasty " on the roads as I type this but the local weather guy claims we'll get some rain and wet snow but should'nt be nothing like whats coming to your world.

I told the guy at the motorcycle shop that I'd come down there on Monday instead of tomorrow like I had planned...weather channel is predicting 20/30mph winds and an inch of rain...yep, I'd rather ride over in the dry given the choice...I hope we don't get any snow like that bad snowstorm back in March...it took us 2 months to clean up from that one... Sad

Never have figured out that one,  people buying gallons of milk and 1/2 dozen loaves of bread when they'll maybe be indoors for maybe a day or two.

I was gonna ask the northern folks if y'all experience the milk and bread phenomena. Always figured it was a southern thing since we don't get much snow.
Also agree with ya on the beer. Last time I had to stand in line at the grocery store cause of the run on milk and bread was because I was in there gettin beer and chaser.  Smiley

nope..it's not a southern thing..you even mention the word snow in our forcast in Pa and people flock to the stores and empty the shelves.. like they are gonna be confined at home for a couple of weeks..last bad storm we had was in 92..we had a blizzard..took 3 days before they'd even let you on the roads..when i walked outside that morning..you could'nt even see where the cars were in the driveway..

Didn't know I was going until I looked at the weather this morning.....It was today or not at all so I buzzed out at 9am . Probably the best run at the Parkway I have ever had....I owned it from Asheville to Hwy. 80.....Not a single car in my way and only met maybe 4 going the opposite direction. The new asphalt is good and they still have some work to finish up with.  Hwy. 80 had a couple of slick spots of ice/water and some curves had sand in them. Other than that it was a good clean ride.  cooldude

I'm hoping it doesn't start snowing until after my wife leaves for work tomorrow. If the buses roll, then it counts as a day of school. If the weather keeps the buses from rolling they'll just take a day off of their break and have them make it up.
So I'm hoping the weather holds at least over night.

We'll have to wait and see what happens.

Got some friends who moved here from Maine and they are amazed by the "milk , bread & egg" run. She called her mom to tell her about it. She told her apparently when it snows everybody drinks milk and eats egg sandwiches. Grin

I think I should have no other mortal wants, if I could always have plenty of music. It seems to infuse strength into my limbs and ideas into my brain. Life seems to go on without effort, when I am filled with music.

I think it has some sleet mixed in because of how it sounds on the skylight. It is snowing quickly but it isn't laying on the ground yet. This is pretty when it only happens once or twice a year.

A lot of that is folks w/kids. If you've got milk for cereal and bread for PBJ sammiches you are pretty much set for a while, likewise milk for formula. beer & frozen pizzas have a longer shelf life so "normal supplies" should suffice  Wink
