Going to pick up my Valk on Wednesday. It’s low miles but has been ridden. I’m taking a 5 gallon can of ethanol free gas with me, do I just need to add carb cleaner to the tank or should I go with sea foam or B12 for the first full tank?

Is it a running machine? If running anyone will be ok. If not you gonna need more than fuel additives.

He says runs fine, I’m just concerned that he hasn’t ridden it much...

I put in some B-12 periodically to keep the fuel system cleaned up. I have had B-12 improve the running of bikes that have sat too long.  And since Murphy's came into the neighborhood I run only pure gas locally.  But on the road, usually have to use corn gas.

You have to follow the instructions using Sea Foam and similar products.  Some guys will tell you "Go ahead and dump in a whole can".  That's like swallowing a full bottle of aspirin if you have a headache.  Although those additives are flammable, they are not motor fuel.  Too much in the gas may create a mixture that doesn't burn very well.

My 4 cylinder Honda would not idle correctly with a heavy dose of Sea Foam in the tank.  One used up and replaced with straight gasoline, the problem was over.

I heard that the month of October of 2030 is supposed to be cooler than normal and I don't know how to dress.
That's basically what you're saying.
Dude, go there, start up the bike, see how it idles, ride it for a few miles, and then decide.
Even if you add I don't know what, or I don't know how much of this and that to the gas in the tank you're not going to notice a difference right away.
Ride it home, if you think is worth it, and let the  fun begin!

I understand that, I just didn’t want to over do it. I’m betting anyone selling a bike is gonna say oh run runs perfect... I’ve talked to a couple sellers that were so proud they drained the carbs and tank before storing it for 3 years...

Fire it up and see what it sounds like. It might be fine.

I use a 1/2 can per 5 gal. (80:1 ratio) Cleaned my carbs within 2 mi. after fill. Like MarcT, Berry B12 about every 2,000 mi./2 times a season.
