Long day but picked up my new to me Valk. Won’t get into the details  but it’s a low mile 2001. And I’m dropping it off Tuesday for a general service and timing belt.

Do the service yourself not likely a mechanic at a bike shop has ever worked on one either.  And you will save a ton of money plus you will know it was done correctly.
Oh and congrats.

Oh and congrats.
I have a local guy specializing in GL bikes. And yes I was shocked that the local Honda shop can’t work on anything prior to 2005. I have no issues doing it myself but the timing belt I want done right the first time. And I also want the bike road worthy ASAP. I already did most of the fluids myself when I got home. All they will be doing is the timing belt, coolant flush, final drive and brake calipers.
I’d rather they get it in and started rather than me not getting to it for a couple weeks due to work...

timing belt, unless mistaken, is 100K or so and you said low mileage so does it need done for what reason?

coolant flush is easy peesy if you can change oil you can do the antifreeze is one small bolt in front.

Exactly, and yes I ordered 2 belts. And he previous owner did nothing to it because he went by mileage. He had the bike 7 years never changed the oil....

I'd run it about 100 miles on the new oil and then change the oil and filter again.

Looking good.  I put a set of those pipes on my 97 Tourer.  Gave me a headache so they didn't last long.  Remind your mechanic that there are three O-rings to change and a sequence to torquing everything.
