Been putting it off for 2 years, finally changed them this weekend.  It really helped to look at the Shop Talk directions as well as Dag's Youtube video re: reinstalling the airbox.  Both made the job a lot easier than going in blind.  This is a great site.  Seems to idle smoother and not lug as much at low rpms.

next time you want to change those hoses..airbox removal is not nessesary. just get some string and forceps. unblot the tank and just tilt it to the right so you can see under it..undo the vacuum lines and tie string to them. i use about 3 feet of string on the right side. pull the whole thing out install the new lines, tying the string to the new lines and pull them back into place and hook them up..the wife and i were getting ready to hop on the bike for a trip one day when i fired the bike up and heard a vacuum line leaking. took me 10 minutes in the driveway and had them replaced and ready to go.

Next time consider a desmog. You will be happy with getting rid of all that stuff.
